What Awaits You:
St. Nicholas Church. This sacred and unique architectural monument was built in the 4th century and dedicated to St. Nicholas, whom millions call "Santa Claus"! In this church, you will see paintings depicting the saint's life on the walls, you will learn many new things, and you will enjoy the historical atmosphere of this sacred place.
The Ancient Lycian City of Myra. Not far from St. Nicholas Church is the ancient city of Myra, which means "Land of the Sun" in translation. Here you will be able to see the ancient Lycian rock tombs, which form a necropolis, and enjoy the atmosphere of antiquity, as these tombs date back to the 4th century BC.
The Ancient Amphitheater in Demre. Today in our country, there are exactly 206 known ancient theaters built during the Roman Empire. The Demre Amphitheater is considered the fourth largest. It was built in the 2nd century and held exactly 10,000 people!
The Sunken City of Kekova. According to research, the island of Kekova was once part of the mainland in ancient times and was a major city. However, over time, due to strong earthquakes, a large part of this city collapsed, and another part turned into an island. Today, this ancient place is isolated from civilization and not open for settlement due to its historical significance. The island itself has become one of the most beautiful and famous attractions. You will be able to see this place while traveling by boat and observing the underwater world through glass sections.
