Prague is a very beautiful city, and to see it reflected in the river at night was a magical experience. We sat on the top for the best views, but at 9pm in April it was a bit chilly, so take an extra layer.

The dinner cruise on the Vltava River in Prague is a great experience. It is 3 hours long, so that you see the sunset, and then Prague lit up at night. The boat turns around a few times at Charles Bridge so that everyone can see the bridge and castle and take pictures. The food is good, not fine dining, but good and plentiful, and it is all about the view anyway. Buy the “Chrystal” cruise so you get the glass topped boats. Pay a little extra to get a table by the window. We were there in off season (April) so the boat was not full - great because the seating is tight (would have been a bit uncomfortable at full capacity).

Our guide who took us from Prague to Terezin was very nice, attentive and willing to make our tour the best possible. After the field he took us to know the town of Terezin and information about it. The guide inside the concentration camp was not so nice, it seemed like she was in a hurry because she didn't explain anything and she was going very fast. However, I would recommend a visit.

Food is acceptably ok, nothing special, portions are huge. Entertainment is notably more and better than expected. No stage, all acts move around the room working table by table.

We spent well over the allotted time with Eva who guided us through the city to some amazing places & hidden gems . She was so knowledgeable, not only about the buildings & legends but in the history of the city , it’s religion’s & political shifts. I would Hugh recommend this tour and a special mention must go to Eva - who was fabulous

Frequently Asked Questions

What languages are tours conducted in across the Czech Republic?

Most tours in the Czech Republic are conducted in English, which is the default language for the majority of group and private excursions. In Prague especially, you can also find tours with audio guides or live commentary in Spanish, French, German, and Italian. Some operators offer tours in additional languages upon request. Language availability is noted on individual tour listings, so check before booking to ensure your preferred language is covered.

What is the best time of year to take a tour in the Czech Republic?

The Czech Republic is a year-round destination, but the most popular months for tours are April through October, when the weather is mild and daylight hours are long. Spring and early autumn are ideal for walking tours and day trips, as crowds are thinner than in peak summer. Winter has its own charm — Prague's Christmas markets, snow-covered castles like Karlštejn, and festive-themed experiences draw visitors from November through January. Outdoor excursions to places like Hřensko and Český Krumlov are best enjoyed in warmer months.

Are private tours available in addition to group excursions?

Yes. Alongside standard group tours, many operators offer private excursions that give you a dedicated guide and a flexible itinerary tailored to your interests. Private options are available for boat cruises in Prague, day trips to Kutná Hora and Karlovy Vary, castle visits, and walking tours. Private tours are especially popular for families, couples, and small groups who want a more personalized pace. Pricing is typically per group rather than per person, which can make them surprisingly good value for parties of four or more.

What happens if the weather is bad on the day of my tour?

Most tours in the Czech Republic run rain or shine. Walking tours proceed in light rain — guides simply recommend waterproof clothing and sturdy shoes. Boat cruises on the Vltava River typically operate in all but the most severe weather, and many vessels have enclosed, heated cabins. In rare cases of extreme conditions (heavy storms, flooding, or unsafe wind), the operator may reschedule or offer a full refund. If you're concerned about weather on a specific date, booking a tour with a flexible cancellation policy gives you peace of mind.

Is transportation included in Czech Republic tour packages?

It depends on the tour. Day trips from Prague to destinations like Kutná Hora, Český Krumlov, Karlovy Vary, and Hřensko almost always include round-trip minibus or coach transport. Walking tours and city-based experiences in Prague generally start at a central meeting point and do not include transport to the departure location. Some combo tours include tram or boat segments as part of the experience. Each listing on Alle Travel specifies what is and isn't included, so you can plan accordingly.

Are there family-friendly tours available in the Czech Republic?

Yes, many tours are well suited to families with children. Daytime sightseeing boat cruises, castle tours, and combo packages that mix walking, tram rides, and river cruises tend to work well for younger travelers thanks to varied activities and manageable durations. Medieval dinner experiences in Prague are also popular with families — the live performances and interactive atmosphere keep children engaged. For tours with age recommendations or minimum age requirements, this information is noted in the tour details. Stroller access can vary, so it's worth checking with the operator if you're traveling with very young children.
