Experience Berlin from a local perspective on a small-group food tasting tour that combines culture, history, and regional cuisine. Led by an experienced guide, this tour introduces you to some of the city’s most popular eateries while offering a deeper understanding of everyday life in Germany’s capital.

As you walk through central Berlin, enjoy a variety of tastings, from traditional street food to refreshing craft beers. Alongside the culinary stops, explore areas rich in history, including the Jewish Quarter, where stories of the past are woven into the streets and architecture.

The tour begins at SammyS Berliner Donuts, where you can choose from a wide selection of freshly made, vegan Berliner donuts—an indulgent introduction to the experience. Passing along Sophienstraße, your guide highlights landmarks shaped by Berlin’s complex history, including wartime traces and significant cultural sites.

A visit to Curry 61 offers a taste of Berlin’s iconic currywurst, served with freshly prepared sauce and locally sourced ingredients. At Café Cinema, take a short break to enjoy a Berliner Weisse, a light, refreshing beer traditionally mixed with fruit syrup, set within a small alley known for its vibrant street art.

Continuing through Hackesche Höfe, once a center of Jewish cultural life, you’ll see how the area has been restored into a hub for art and creativity. At Mustafa’s Gemüse Kebap, skip the line to try one of Berlin’s most popular street foods and discover why döner kebabs are such a staple in the city.

The tour concludes at Das Lemke brewery near Hackescher Markt, where you can relax in a beer garden beneath historic railway arches. Here, sample a selection of house-brewed beers alongside flammkuchen, while learning about Berlin’s brewing traditions in a laid-back, authentic setting.

Sophienstraße (Pass By)

Start with exploring the area’s layered past: a façade scarred by WWII bullets, an East Berlin church where Martin Luther King Jr. preached secretly, and a historic Jewish cemetery holding grave.

Curry 61

No Berlin food tour is complete without currywurst: juicy pork sausage topped with hot ketchup and curry powder. Here, the sausages come from a Brandenburg butcher and the sauce is mixed fresh daily.

15 minutes • Admission Ticket Free

Café Cinema

Pause from busy central Berlin for a Berliner Weisse, a refreshing pale ale mixed with raspberry or woodruff syrup. Enjoy it at Café Cinema in Dead Chicken Alley, a tiny lane filled with vibrant street art and creative energy.

20 minutes • Admission Ticket Free

Hackesche Höfe (Pass By)

Once a vibrant Jewish cultural hub, Hackesche Höfe survived war, neglect, and division. Restored after reunification, its historic tiled courtyards now showcase Berlin’s art, craft, and creative spirit once again.

Mustafa's Can Gemüse Kebap

Over 400,000 Döner Kebabs are eaten every single day in Berlin. You get skip-the-line access to one of the city’s most popular spots to see why!

Museum Island (Pass By)

In the 1800s, Kaiser Wilhelm II of Prussia transformed Berlin’s Museum Island into a centre for art and science. Today its historic museums display treasures from ancient civilizations to classical and modern art.

Das Lemke - Biergarten, Brauerei, deutsche Küche

End the tour beneath Hackescher Markt’s railway arches at Lemke Brewery, relaxing with house-brewed beer and crisp flammkuchen. Sample six tasting pours in the beer garden while discovering Berlin’s brewing traditions.

Clara was a wonderful tour guide who provided a great overview of the city, how to navigate it, and feeding us greatly with delicious bites and drinks. This is surely not a tour to be skipped because this tour covers a few other stops that other tours don't!

"It was a cold afternoon in Berlin, but we met our knowledgeable and personable guide, Rodolfo, at a nice warm coffee shop and picked up Berliners to save for the end. I guess that others chose not to come out on a cold day, but they missed out, and my wife and I had a delightful personal tour. This is not just a food tour - it is a fascinating lesson about the food, culture and history of Berlin. We saw a cemetary split between Nazis and Jews. We saw walls pockmarked by bullet holes. We learned about the wall coming down and the sense of freedom that brings - and the lack of judgmental attitudes that exists through much of Berlin society. We even learned about Herta Heuwer's inspired invention and beer that comes red and green. Our guide, Rodolfo, is enthusiastic and energetic, and we spent lots of time laughing and learning. We tasted Doner Kebab (so good!) and some great local beers. I would recommend this tour to anyone who wants to learn a lot about Berlin and its food, while having a GREAT time. "

Rodolfo gave the most in depth, warm and lovely tour. He kept us all engaged and interested while we learned, ate and drank and shared moments together. His knowledge was unsurpassed and the long term historical context and modern history was all explained thoroughly and efficiently. He is a master story teller and was so generous and kind with all of the people on our tour. Do not miss this opportunity. I was with my 17 year old son who loved every moment of the tour too even with some jet lag. Top experience in Berlin. So glad we booked this tour.

This is an excellent food tour of Berlin Mitte area. Clara, our guide, was highly knowledgeable about the history of the sites we walked by, and the food and drinks stops themselves were all excellent. A great mix of both authentic food and local beer, myself and my husband thoroughly enjoyed the experience and won't hesitate to book with Eating Europe again. Not only did we have great time, but Clara shared lots of other excellent recommendations on where to find different cuisines in Berlin, and those we managed to try did not disappoint either. Thank you for an amazing start to our time in Berlin! Jayden and Owen

We enjoyed our tour, though we were surprised to find that we were the only guests; we essentially got a 'private' tour without paying any extra for it! We had 2 guides, Rodolfo and Clara, both of whom were friendly and knowledgeable about the area. Neither of them were Berlin natives but both had chosen to live there for 5 years, 10 years or more after visiting from their native countries, which we think really speaks to the quality of Berlin as a city and reflects its multicultural population and eclectic vibe! We got to try a few different local dishes (it was definitely more than enough food!), and the beer tasting was enjoyable as well. Great value for the price and gave us a very good taste of Berlin!
