Details

We will visit the largest ancient city in Turkey — Ephesus. The site is considered one of the best-preserved ancient cities, where the original city layout can still be clearly seen. Historical records show that Ephesus was founded before the birth of Christ, making it a significant center of ancient civilization.

During the guided visit, you will see the library, marketplace, amphitheater, baths, and other important remains together with your guide. You will walk through the ancient streets and have time to take photos among the marble columns and historic structures that reflect the city’s past.

One of the most notable monuments is the Library of Celsus, known for its striking façade. In front of the building, four statues once stood, each carrying symbolic meaning that reflects the culture of the period.

Another key highlight is the large amphitheater, which once accommodated up to 25,000 spectators. It hosted theatrical performances, sporting events, and gladiator contests. From the upper rows, you can view the remains of the marble main street and gain a sense of the city’s scale.

After the lunch break, the tour continues to the next stop — the House of Mary. This site is believed to be where the Virgin Mary spent her final days. Here you will find a small church, holy springs, and the wall of wishes, a place of importance for Christian visitors.

Throughout the excursion, your guide will provide detailed explanations about Ephesus and its history, helping you better understand this remarkable ancient city and its cultural significance.
