Highly recommend this Tour. Mihalia took us to markets and neighborhoods that are away from the city center and have lots of history and beautiful architecture. She provided us with lots of history and local knowledge. You will not be disappointed with this Tour..

Do it! Andrea is an amazing guide! She knew a lot about the history and architecture of Bucharest. She even took us on the bus and the tram. We had food at places where tourists wouldn't normally go and it was delicious. Everything we tried was local. The outdoor market was an experience! Andrea took the time to explain the different sections of the market and answered all of our questions about the different fruits and veggies we saw. Cool to know she shopped there, too. It was an amazing tour made even better with Andrea ! Take the tour if you find yourself in Bucharest. You will not be disappointed.

Expect a real taste of Romanian food and local beer. Our guide was so friendly, knowledgeable about the history of the places we visited and bought fresh vegetables to add to the food.

This tour is about so much more than food - although there is plenty of that as well. Alex was a top-notch guide for our group of 5. He introduced himself at the meeting point with a fresh, warm pretzel for us each. After strolling through some neighborhoods and finding out facts about who owns and lives in the pre-communism palaces, we went to a small neighborhood cafe where we had sour cherry palinka in an ice cold little cup along with a platter of typical meats, cheeses, spreads and bread. Yum! After this, we hopped on a bus to head to the large market where everything was sold from homegoods, to produce to deli items. We were all eager to buy the little palinka cups and Alex tracked some down for us. He even tracked down some palinka for us. We had a wonderful tour of the market and Alex bought from lovely produce which he prepared for our next stop at Terasa Obor, where we had some of the famous BBQ mici sausage that people will stand in a long line to buy. Not us! With Alex, we march right up to a reserved table. Mici are to die for! After this, we are off to have a tram experience and return near to our starting point. This was a fabulous tour that was very well planned and led. These Americans highly recommend it!
