Initial waiter was a bit rude. Didn't understand how the voucher worked and wasn't sure if my booking was for two people or not (even though I'd triple checked before hand). Eventually just took our order (no choice, just steak) and beoght us one beer and a shot each. Steak was lovely. Huge portion sizes. Entertainment was okay, mostly belly dancers. All other staff seemed very friendly. It was okay but I wouldn't go again.

The staff was super nice and deserves 5 stars as well as the ambience. The food was good and it was ok. The fire waver was great, as was the belly dancer.

FAQ

Are there vegetarian, vegan, or alternative menu options available at the medieval dinner?
The standard menu is meat-focused — a hearty Angus beef rump steak with sides. Vegetarian or alternative options are not listed as standard, so if you have dietary restrictions (vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, or allergies), contact the organizer before booking to ask whether substitutions can be arranged. The listed menu contains lactose, so dairy-sensitive guests should also flag this in advance. Medieval dinner experiences in Budapest are generally built around large meat dishes, so setting expectations early helps avoid disappointment on the night.
Is there a dress code, and should I wear medieval costume to the dinner?
There's no formal dress code and you absolutely don't need to come in costume — most guests wear regular casual or smart-casual clothing. That said, if you want to dress up in medieval-themed attire for the fun of it, you'll fit right in with the tavern atmosphere. Comfortable clothes are recommended since you'll be seated for around 3 hours. The venue can get warm during the show with the fire performances, so layers are a practical choice.
Is the medieval dinner suitable for children and families?
There's no listed age restriction — children can attend at the standard adult ticket price of €49. The sword fighting, juggling, and fire performances tend to be a hit with older kids (roughly 7+). However, keep in mind the show runs until late evening, portions are large and meat-heavy, and the atmosphere is geared toward an adult audience with beer and pálinka included. Very young children may find the 3-hour event too long. If you're booking for a family, it's worth contacting the organizer through Alle Travel to ask about child-friendly meal adjustments.
Can I order additional drinks or food beyond what's included in the ticket?
Yes — the ticket covers one welcome shot of apple pálinka and 0.5L of draft beer, but additional food and beverages can be purchased separately at the venue throughout the evening. Expect a standard bar menu with beer, wine, soft drinks, and spirits available. Prices for extras are paid directly at the tavern and are not included in your booking. If you don't drink alcohol, soft drink alternatives are available for purchase, though a non-alcoholic substitute for the welcome shot isn't specifically mentioned.
What should I expect from the show, and can I take photos or videos?
The entertainment runs alongside dinner and includes live sword fighting, juggling, fire performances, and belly dancing accompanied by music — think lively tavern spectacle rather than a sit-and-watch theatre show. Guests are seated at communal-style tables close to the action, which adds to the immersive atmosphere. Photography and video are generally welcome, and the dramatic lighting and performances make for great content. Arrive around 7 PM as suggested, since the show begins at 8 PM and you'll want to settle in and enjoy your welcome drink first.
