Blue Cave Swim & Submarine Tunnel Speedboat Adventure

Explore the Bay of Kotor’s coastal highlights on a speedboat cruise that combines history, scenic views, and swim stops. From abandoned submarine tunnels and Mamula’s wartime fortress to the legendary Our Lady of the Rocks and the charming old town of Perast, this tour offers a concise yet memorable overview of the region’s land and sea.

Details

Set off on a speedboat cruise from Kotor that covers the bay’s most notable sights in a single excursion. The vessel comes equipped with a onboard fridge, music system, and complimentary Wi-Fi, allowing you to stay refreshed and connected throughout the journey.

Your tour begins with a meeting at the local agency, then boarding the speedboat right in Kotor. As you glide across the water, take in panoramic views of the coastline, passing by the towns of Perast, Tivat, Porto Montenegro, and Herceg Novi. A short stop is made near the entrances of the abandoned submarine tunnels, originally constructed by the Yugoslav Army.

Next, the cruise brings you to the island of Mamula, where you’ll see its fortress—later used as a World War II concentration camp by Italian forces. Your local skipper shares historical context about the island’s complex past.

From there, the speedboat heads toward the Blue Lagoon, known for its clear azure waters. This is a prime spot for swimming and diving, with snorkeling masks provided so you can observe the underwater rock formations and cave-like features.

The itinerary also includes a visit to Our Lady of the Rocks, an artificial island created by local fishermen in the 15th century. Your skipper offers insight into its legends and significance, while you enjoy the scenic view of the islet and its church.

The final stop is in Perast old town, where you’ll have free time to explore the streets, relax at a café, or grab a coffee or ice cream before returning to the original departure point in Kotor.

Really great tour at a really good value! The boat had plenty of room for 10 people, which I believe they cap the group sizes at. Our guide, Andrei, was very helpful and knowledgeable always making himself available for questions. Having bottles of water for everyone on board was a nice touch. The stops were all interesting and there was plenty of time for a leisurely stroll through Perast and an incredible swim in a beautiful, private cove. This was a highlight of my time in Kotor, highly recommended!

Great tour which hits all the best spots for photos swimming. My guides were two young local legends which were super informative and supplied great tunes for the ride. Highly recommend

The speedboat ride was a fun way to spend time in Kotor. The only thing I’d improve is having more swimming time instead of just a quick jump into the water and back out.

Excellent trip would highly recommend. Each stop added variety to the trip and our hosts Marko and Stefan couldn’t have been friendlier. It was nice to have a small group and lots of space on the boat. Great value for money and a real highlight of our trip!

Amazing tour! Better boat than a different tour we took prior. Driver and his dad were great. We spent just enough time at all the spots and the swimming stop was amazing. It was great to see the hiding spots of the sub tunnels and even go inside one with the boat. Would highly recommend this tour to others!
