Blue Cave & Boka Bay Through Local Eyes with drinks

Explore the highlights of Boka Bay on a small-group speedboat tour from Kotor, combining scenic cruising with swimming stops and local stories. Visit the historic town of Perast, the iconic Our Lady of the Rocks, a former submarine tunnel, and the dazzling Blue Cave—all led by experienced, licensed skippers who know the bay intimately.

Details

Start your Kotor journey with a different perspective on Boka Bay—from the water. This relaxed small-group speedboat tour is designed for travelers who want to see the bay’s most recognized sights, swim in clear waters, and learn about local life through authentic stories.

Your skipper will be either Luka or Neven, depending on the schedule. Both are licensed and experienced, with a genuine connection to the sea. Luka, a professional volleyball player and captain of Montenegro’s national team, spends his off-season guiding tours—a way to share his love for the region. Neven is a licensed skipper and Second Officer with international sailing experience, known for his calm manner and strong emphasis on safety.

With a maximum of 10 guests per boat, the tour keeps a personal and comfortable feel. You’ll ride on a Marinello New Eden 22 or Atlantic Marine 670, both fitted with comfortable seating, music, a sunshade, and ample room to enjoy the cruise.

Your first stop is Perast, one of Montenegro’s most picturesque historic towns. You may step ashore to wander its stone streets and maritime landmarks, or choose to admire views of Perast and Our Lady of the Rocks from the boat—saving extra time for swimming at the Blue Cave.

Cruise on through the Verige passage to the Submarine Tunnel, carved into the rocks during the Yugoslav era. Entering by speedboat gives a brief look into the bay’s military history. Next, pass by Mamula Island, with its 19th-century fortress and views opening toward the Adriatic.

The tour’s main highlight is the Blue Cave, where sunlight filters through the water to create its distinctive glowing color. You’ll have time to swim, photograph, and enjoy the clear sea.

On the return to Kotor, sit back with music and scenic views. The aim is simple: to offer a safe, welcoming experience, and help you leave Montenegro with lasting memories.

This was great, Luca talked about many of the local buildings, changed around our route to make sure he made the most of the slightly calmer winds toget us into the blue cave. He was a wonderful skipper, would highly recommend!!

We had the most amazing experience! Luca was friendly and knowledgeable. We were greeted on the pier by friendly staff and shown all the beautiful spots. Our favourite was definitely seeing the blue caves. It was breathtaking. We got to swim in the crystal clear water right next to the blue caves and we will treasure this memory forever. Thank you so much Luca. We will be back!

I had a wonderful time. The boat was comfortable, young skipper very thoughtful and knowledgeable about the area, as he was born and raised here. We had enough time to swim in the blue water cave and I liked the relaxing atmosphere of the whole trip. Highly recommended!

Luka was a great guide and great fun! We sadly didn’t get a chance to swim in the blue caves due to the high wind, but he took us to another great spot where we were able to jump in and had a lovely time! Full of history and fun facts - a great day!

This activity was very fun! We got to see the whole of Kotor bay whilst hearing about the history from the skipper. We ended up going in two submarine tunnels which was interesting and something I haven’t seen before. We finished with a swim by the blue cave which was wonderful and we had snorkelling masks provided. I would highly recommend this tour. There were 8 of us in our group and the boat was very comfortable and spacious.
