The Torre de Belém, an iconic Lisbon landmark, and the Padrãodos Descobrimentos, a ship-shaped structure constructed for the Portuguese World Exhibition in 1940, are both visible shortly after you leave the dock.

Visit the prisons and forts that were used by the previous regime on the south bank. You can see the Cristo Rei and be mesmerized by the Ponte 25 de Abril.

You will have views of historic Lisbon, including the Terreiro do Paço, the Cais do Sodré, and the recently renovated waterfront, as you return along the north bank. The Museum of Electricity will be visible as you return to the dock.

Starting point of the tour
Make your way to Belém by train, uber or táxi (5 min from city center) and near the Tower of Belem, next to Hotel Altis, you will find a dock that has a BP petrol Station. Get to gate 3 of the dock (the one closest to the Hotel) and there will be someone to meet you.
