Details

The Bay of Poets is known for its small coves and sea caves, many of which can only be reached from the water. This guided kayak tour departs in the late afternoon, when the Gulf of La Spezia is illuminated by the warm tones of golden hour. Paddling through protected waters where motorboats are not permitted, you’ll have the chance to experience quieter sections of the coastline at a steady, comfortable pace.

After meeting your guide directly on the beach, a short introduction prepares you for the route ahead. From there, you’ll follow the eastern shoreline, passing the coastal villages of San Terenzo and Lerici. Along the way, the route includes hidden coves, sea caves, and distinctive rock formations, with opportunities to stop for photos, a swim, or a short break on the beach.

As the light begins to change, the surroundings take on softer tones, creating a calm and scenic atmosphere. Before returning, the experience concludes with a sunset aperitivo, including drinks and light snacks served by the shore.

This tour is rated at a moderate difficulty level and is best suited for participants with some prior kayaking experience.

We had the most amazing time seeing the beautiful coastline from offshore. The whole team were great fun, and so dedicated to providing an excellent experience. On top of that, the kayaking was super easy and the views were incredible! Thank you so much for an excellent afternoon!

This was a very fun activity in a beautiful area! One thing to note - although it is list as wheelchair accessible, it's really not. The road going down to the beach is extremely steep (the taxi driver tried to talk us out of it because it's dangerous), and you need to somehow get to the kayaks on the beach and have a way to get out of the kayak to explore the beaches at the stopping points. The kayaking distance is long, about 10-12km so make sure you can handle that. The guides were very friendly and went out of their way to help me in my manual wheelchair and even went above and beyond. Good thing I'm so adventurous, and that they were willing to help!

Amazing experience! Tour guide was knowledgeable, friendly, and very patient with us that were inexperienced with kayaking. Would absolutely recommend this tour to anyone visiting the La Spezia area!

"This trip was really nice luca picked me up from my hotel as I lived in la spezia. we had a great Kayak tour with amazing views we saw three caves and swimmed in a place like heaven. I really recommend this tour and don't worry you don't need to be athletic to do it and you don't need to be fast they will wait for you and if things went wrong they will pull you with robe . "

The guides were great and helpful but it should be noted that this is not an easy kayaking experience. It is long (and the guides will assist you if you need help, they took our two kids in one kayak for instance) and a bit rocky if you get easily sea sick. It’s a beautiful view though. The other thing to note is that there are mosquitoes in the cave and though we were only there for 15 min, we got pretty bit up. Beware!

"Absolutely amazing! Cool tour, beautiful nature and places you won't see or find otherwise! A little exhausting in the end, but definately worth it! On top of that the guides were cool dudes. Shoutout to the guys ✌🏾"

"This was a fun experience however it could have been improved by the following. Increased safety and supervision, that is a briefing at beginning of the tour. The kayaking itself was good, but due to bad weather the day before it did not allow us into the caves. Also it was only 3 hours, not 4. The guide Luca was good."

A very friendly team, an enjoyable location and a nice activity. There was a small technical issue and the weather led to a date change, but the organizers were very helpful with a nice cocktail!
