Details

This trip will take you from the castle surroundings to the historic center of Pilsen and its famous brewery.

Departure from Prague:
You leave Prague in the morning, while the journey to Zbiroh by car takes approximately one hour.

Zbiroh Castle:
Your first stop will be in the picturesque village of Zbiroh, home to one of the oldest Czech castles, Zbiroh. This Gothic-Renaissance castle has a rich history and served as the residence of important personalities, including Emperor Rudolf II. and the painter Alfons Mucha, who painted the famous Slavic epic here. I recommend ordering a tour of the castle interiors, where you will see unique historical artifacts and an exhibition dedicated to life in the castle.

A walk through the castle park:
After the tour, take a walk through the castle park with beautiful views of the surrounding countryside. Here you can have a light snack or a coffee in the local castle cafe.

Departure to Pilsen:
After visiting Zbiroh, you will continue to Pilsen, which is approximately another half hour's journey.

Tour of Plzeňské Prazdroj:
Upon arrival in Pilsen, you will visit one of the most famous breweries in the world, Pilsenský Prazdroj. The tour includes a visit to the historic cellars, where you will learn about the production process of Pilsner Urquell beer and taste freshly tapped beer.

Lunch in Pilsen:
After the tour, treat yourself to lunch in one of Pilsen's restaurants, where you can enjoy local Czech specialties such as sirloin steak, zelo pork dumpling or traditional Pilsen goulash. A glass of fresh beer is a matter of course.

A walk through the historical center of Pilsen:
After lunch, a tour of the historic city center awaits you. Visit Náměstí Republiky with the dominant cathedral of St. Bartholomew, whose tower is the highest in the Czech Republic. If you have enough energy, climb the tower and enjoy wonderful views of the city and the surrounding area.

Pilsen Historical Underground:
The next stop is a tour of the Pilsen Historical Underground, which is an extensive network of corridors and cellars under the city that were used for defense and storage. The tour will introduce you to medieval life in Pilsen and the history of the city's underground.

Return to Prague:
After a full day in Pilsen, you will head back to Prague in the early evening around 6:00 pm, full of impressions from a beautiful trip.
