Czech–Saxon Switzerland Full-Day Tour from Prague

Start your adventure with a comfortable departure from Prague in a modern minivan, accompanied by a two-person crew for maximum safety and comfort. On the way out of the city, your knowledgeable guide will share fascinating stories about Prague’s history and point out architectural landmarks along the route. You’ll also get personalized recommendations for the best places to visit during your stay in Prague.

As you head north, you’ll pass the legendary Říp Mountain, a symbol of Czech national heritage. Your guide will tell you the ancient legend tied to this sacred hill and explain its importance in Czech history.

Your first destination is Bastei Bridge in Saxon Switzerland (Germany). Enjoy an easy scenic walk leading to one of the most breathtaking viewpoints in Europe. Spanning high above the Elbe River Canyon, the bridge offers unforgettable panoramic views of the sandstone rock formations. You’ll also visit the ruins of Neurathen Castle, a 13th-century fortress located at the far end of the bridge. The sunrise over these dramatic peaks is a truly magical experience.

The next stop takes you across the border back into the Czech Republic, into the Bohemian Switzerland National Park. From there, you’ll take a short hike to Pravčická Gate — the largest natural sandstone arch in Europe and the symbol of the park. Standing beneath its massive arch is a humbling experience. Here, you can relax and enjoy a local Czech beer at the historic Falcon’s Nest restaurant, while admiring the spectacular views of the surrounding landscape.

Afterward, enjoy lunch at a local restaurant before continuing your journey to the serene Kamenice Gorge. Follow your guide along the peaceful river trail as it winds through lush forested cliffs. The hike ends with a tranquil boat ride through the gorge — a mystical experience surrounded by nature, crystal-clear water, and local wildlife such as birds and fish, sometimes even salmon.

Finally, you’ll reach the picturesque village of Hřensko, where your well-rested driver will be waiting to take you comfortably back to Prague. Relax during the return journey, or take a nap as you reflect on your adventure-filled day. Before saying goodbye, you’ll receive a small gift as a memento of your trip.

This full-day excursion combines history, nature, and breathtaking landscapes — an unforgettable experience in the heart of Central Europe.

Spectacular views. Fascinating history. Quaint villages. Discovered my new favorite Czech beverage. It was an excellent day in the gorgeous Czech/German countryside. Well worth the cost and taking one of our three days in Prague. Be advised: uneven terrain and 1000 ft. of elevation gain. We had an elderly couple with us for part of the day and it did not seem like a good fit for them. Our guides, John and Adam helped them through and were generally great.

Beautiful scenery and excellent guides. I’m so glad we saw this part of Germany & the Czech Republic, but it was not an easy hike.

Pick up was prompt and we were off to our first hike. Adam, our guide, was great and very knowledgeable about the history and surrounding landscape of Czechia. The second hike is up hill for 2 km over cobbles, dirt and stairs. Lunch was wonderful. Definitely recommend!!

It was good to get out of Prague for a day to experience the Czech / German National Park. A comfortable journey, spectacular scenery in the Park, good exercise and an enjoyable lunch. Franky and our driver were both personable, friendly and informative - we learnt a lot about darts. Nothing was too much trouble.
