Details

Stockholm is built on islands, and this sightseeing cruise offers a relaxing way to explore its scenic waterways. You’ll glide through the city center, listen to an audio guide available in 11 languages, and see highlights from the Södermalm neighborhood and the leafy island of Djurgården to the Vasa Museum and beyond. Cruises depart regularly, so you can choose a time that fits your schedule.

Begin at Strömkajen, where boats leave at convenient intervals throughout the day. Climb aboard, find a seat, and enjoy the fresh air as the audio commentary shares insights about the surroundings. Entering the Djurgården canal, you’ll view the island’s tranquil, leafy shores—home to the Vasa Museum (displaying a 17th-century ship that sank on its maiden voyage) and the Prins Eugens Waldemarsudde Museum. This is where many Stockholmers spend their leisure time.

The cruise continues around the Fjäderholmarna island cluster. On the return toward central Stockholm, you’ll pass the bustling Södermalm neighborhood, one of Scandinavia’s most densely populated urban areas. You’ll also see Slussen, a hip, gritty district linking Södermalm with Gamla Stan (Stockholm’s Old Town). The experience ends with sweeping panoramic views of the city from the water.

The green garden, the theater are very nice. Also the description that we heard from headphones gave us good explanation.

Nice way to get to know Stockholm’s canals, historical buildings, spots of famous events (i.e. spot where the ship Vasa sunk) from the water. Seats are comfortable, audio was easy to follow, and it is available in different languages.

The trip was beautiful and interesting. I wish I had signed up for the 2.5 hour cruise to see more. Gunnar, the person who narrated the trip made it really fascinating and fun. He talked about all the sights and history in just the right amount of detail, and was also fun and interactive - but not too much. He was fantastic.

This was a very nice, slow tour with excellent recorded narration around a few of the islands, providing interesting details and historic facts about the city. Well worth it!

The boat we boarded left on time and the seats were comfortable and traveled a very beautiful route and the boat staff was very kind and polite. I will definitely recommend my friends to experience this short trip.

Very nice way to spend an hour or so exploring Stockholm waterways. We went in October and enjoyed the scenery, sites and autumnal trees. Good commentary too, in a number of languages. Recommended!
