Canal Cruise with German-Speaking Guide & Onboard Bar

Discover Amsterdam’s canals on a one-hour cruise led by a German-speaking guide. Glide past historic landmarks while enjoying the option to order drinks from the onboard bar.

Details

Step aboard an electric-powered open or partially covered boat and glide through Amsterdam’s iconic waterways. A German-speaking guide will bring the city’s heritage to life, sharing stories about its architecture, canal houses, and cultural quirks—like why the famous leaning houses lean and the history behind the “Seven Bridges.”

Pass memorable landmarks—from the historic Oude Kerk and dancing houses to charming bridges like the Magere Brug—while quiet electric motors ensure minimal noise for a peaceful experience.

Onboard, you can purchase drinks from the bar—whether you’d like a beer, soft drink, or something else to sip as you take in the views and guide’s stories.

The trip was nice and the guide was very friendly and explained and told a lot. He was also good at answering questions. The only thing that bothered me was the poles that normally hold the tarpaulin. Some of them were a little in the way or you had to contort yourself a bit to look around them. Otherwise great trip!

It was quite funny... But the boat was overbooked and we had to lay across at the bow. Which was also OK for us younger people. Unfortunately, we didn't actually sell drinks because the guide was busy telling the tour. That was a shame, it would be better to ask before the start. Oh yes, it would be better to offer a bit of shandy, as many people prefer pure beer instead. So there is room for improvement...

A nice tour, the guide speaks German very well and knows a lot about the history and architecture of Amsterdam. So you find out things that you wouldn't normally find out. But that's what a tour like this is for, among other things. We can only recommend the “German” tour. Especially when you take them at dusk and the lights on the bridges and buildings come on, you get really nice photos. On board there are Heinecken (€3.50), soft drinks and white wine. Everything chilled.

I joined this cruise since my husband is German. You know what really made this cruise something special? The staff onboard. They went above and beyond to make sure we had an amazing time. Their professionalism and warm hospitality created an atmosphere that felt luxurious. You could really tell that they weren't just there to do a job – they were there to create an experience that left us amazed.
