Admire the beautiful canal boats and merchant houses from the water on a 1-hour canal cruise that takes you along some of the historic waterways. Dug in the Dutch Golden Age spanning the 17th century, it was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2010.

Feast your eyes on the decorative façades of the canalside buildings, and marvel at all the different styles of gables, such as clock, spout and neck gables. Pass iconic architecture, including the Skinny Bridge over the Amstel River, the legendary home of the World War 2 diarist Anne Frank, the imposing Westerkerk, and the old Port of Amsterdam.

Then, disembark to enjoy skip-the-line entry to the Rijksmuseum. See masterpieces by the Dutch masters of the 17th century, including Rembrandt’s “The Nighwatch” and Vermeer’s “The Milkmaiden.”

Be sure to give yourself enough time to fully explore the museum... I spent three hours there and found myself rushing towards the end coz i was pressed for time with another place to be at. Also quick tip would be to go straight to the second floor and then make your way down...

It’s a nice combination however a lot of information is missing and can lead to losing the ticket, it’s never said that you have to call the number to book the boat yourself and that all the activity is done without any guide. The price is almost the same as if we would have bought each activity alone and we didn’t receive any information or guidence. We almost lose our boat ticket as no info was delivered and the last time to get into the museum was sad as we couldn’t see much of it, they were gonna close.

Both places were great experiences! Saving money is great, too. Highly recommend both the museum and the canal tour

The visit to the Rijksmuseum was excellent - an amazing collection with iconic artists. The Canal Cruise (operated by Lovers) was dissapointing with a packed boat, poor sound, noisy travellers who were disinterested in the cruise and a captain who shouldn't be working in the tourism industry. He was condescending and treated his guests poorly. Not a good introduction to Amsterdam!
