Details

Today, discover everyday Thai life from the water. Your guide will collect you from your hotel in Bangkok and travel with you by local transport to the Chao Phraya River, with transfer times of approximately 10–30 minutes depending on your location.

Begin the experience by heading into Bangkok’s historic khlongs (canals) aboard a long-tail boat for around one hour, passing quiet waterways and traditional riverside homes. As the route opens up, you will notice the distinctive rocket boats approaching—known for their speed and use by locals. You will then switch boats and enjoy a fast-paced ride through the canals for about 30 minutes.

The journey continues along the Chao Phraya River toward Nonthaburi, where you experience a more rural side of life and visit a local market to browse everyday goods. After the boat activities, lunch is served at a local restaurant, featuring authentic Thai dishes in a relaxed setting.

Following your meal, sit back and enjoy a worry-free transfer back to your hotel. This half-day tour offers a balanced view of Bangkok’s waterways, combining scenic cruising, local transport, and insight into communities often missed by first-time visitors.

Excellent tour guide! A cool view into the daily life of Thais living on the small canals. We went from a big public long boat, to a private long boat, to a small wooden speed boat. We saw no other tourists until we got back to Bangkok. Highlight of our two week trip!

"This experience should not be missed!!! Most definitely the highlight of our stay in Bangkok! Since it was off season, the canals were almost serene as we navigated through the village, in our long boat. The rocket boat, or as Jill calls it the 007 boat, was a blast!!! You must slow down, if you see villagers out on their dock areas, as the elders could be resting…. Jill, our guide, made our day very special, with her care and attention to detail, and with her knowledgeable and passionate understanding of the rural village. I wish I could give 100 stars! "

"An amazing tour that I would highly recommend. We got to see areas of Thailand that you would not experience otherwise. It was fun going on all the different boats as transport. The only disappointing part of the say was lunch, was not the best Thai dish that I have had on my travels, would recommend they look for somewhere else, "

Excellent and unique Bangkok experience, we loved floating through the canals and enjoying views of Buddhist temples and teak houses. The lunch was authentic and very tasty. Thanks!

A fabulous tour with Jill who was super knowledgeable, attentive and funny. We thoroughly enjoyed every aspect of this tour which included taste testing food at a local market - no other tourists anywhere so we got the real deal, enjoying traditional lunch at a small cafe on the river and the highlight for us was visiting the Buddhist Temple and learning so much about the Buddhas. Most of the sightseeing was on the Long Boat, passing many villages which was definitely a different experience. The tour took about 6 hours. We would highly recommend this tour to anyone wanting something a bit different …. Worth every cent

I’ve been to Bangkok many times, but never had an experience like this. Aeh was a truly amazing guide, he went above and beyond and he knew EVERYTHING. Aeh stayed attuned to my interests and dietary requirements, which made me feel very comfortable and kept the trip extremely interesting. He answered all my questions with professionalism and he pointed out things he somehow knew that I’d like. At first I thought the tour may be overpriced, but it’s worth penny. After the tour, Aeh dropped me off at a place I wanted to go but I didn’t know how to get to - he was just excellent and a great human being overall.

Jill is friendly and professional. We loved the experience. Only thing we dislike is the lunch experience. The place Jill took us is very poorly settled and has no wash room. I would say it’s not a restaurant, we feel like it is a local family ( not sure if it’s a poor family or dirty place. We did pay good money for the experience. The lunch is a big disappointment. We were being polite at the time, but afraid to eat.( think of not being sick).

The tour it's self was amazing. It was fun getting to see the way the locals live along the canal system. However my guide was very pushy and didn't even allow me to order for myself at lunchtime. Which made me uncomfortable.
