Details

Explore life along Bangkok’s canals and gain insight into how local residents live by the water. As you travel through the klongs, you may see elderly people resting on wooden docks outside their small homes, women hanging laundry to dry, and children swimming in the canal.

Make a stop at Baan Silapin (The Artist’s House), a traditional Thai home transformed into a public space dedicated to preserving art and traditional performances. This historic wooden house, more than 200 years old, has been carefully restored and sits within a small community of rustic shophouses linked by a wooden walkway along the canal’s edge.

Continue past Wat Paknam Phasi Charoen, a temple dating back to the mid-Ayutthaya period in Thonburi’s Phasi Charoen District. Take the opportunity to photograph the temple’s enormous Buddha statue, rising nearly 70 meters high and considered Bangkok’s largest Buddha image, measuring 40 meters wide in its seated meditation pose.

Return to your starting point having experienced a more local and peaceful perspective of Bangkok.

This was a last minute booking, so didn't fully know what to expect. Actually had a great time, it was interesting to see another side to Bangkok. The big Buddha stop was good but the artists house area was great. Would have liked longer there but never mind. Be warned that it takes a little while to get through the canal lock but it's part of the fun!

Details of the meeting point were clear and easy to find. We liked that the group was small. Great introduction to canal life and its attractions.

Our guide, Bella, was lovely. She was always trying to lighten the group’s mood with jokes and making small talk during the boat ride. She happily answered all our questions, and she offered to take photos of our family multiple times throughout the tour. They give you 30 minutes to have a look around the market and you get to see the Big Buddha during this trip too. We got to feed the fish and do some market shopping. My parents were also able to meet a monk, which was the highlight of the tour for them. The tour is short but is as described.

It is an amazing way to see parts of Bangkok from an incredible vantage point. The Buddha was beautiful to see, I even had the chance to feed catfish when we stopped to explore the canal market & have a beer delivered to the boat by a local floating merchant.

Great! We loved Bella who was a lot of fun. Boat ride was cool and like a speed boat at times 😂. Would 100% recommend. Felt chilled and loved the mini market stop ♥️

We enjoyed the canal ride. The time allotted for the market and artist's house tour was very short. We expected more canal rides. The guide was very helpful and pleasant.

Really fun tour of something we hadn't seen in bangkok yet. Johan was really enthusiastic and taught us a lot about that side of Bangkok. He seemed to enjoy his job and was happy to answer any questions we had. The boats were cool and we didn't get seasick like we thought we would. The only thing is that I wish we had more time at the market. We only had 20 minutes which was enough to feed the fish, use the restroom, and make a quick lap around the market. You'd have to go on your own to really see everything or buy stuff.

Long tail boat through the canals of Bangkok. Fascinating seeing river life and the 69 metre golden Buddha was incredible. Slightly disappointed with the Artists House - thought it would be similar to Jim Thompson’s house but rather a tourist trap. Pam our guide was great and very informative. Would definitely recommend.
