Details

Make your visit to the Sagrada Familia more meaningful with a 1.5-hour guided tour of Antoni Gaudí’s renowned masterpiece. Choose between a group or private experience and explore the basilica alongside a knowledgeable guide who will help you understand its design and significance.

Begin outside with a short introduction before entering the basilica. Once through security, discover the Nativity Façade, the first completed section, and learn about its detailed symbolism. Inside, experience the distinctive atmosphere created by colorful stained glass windows and towering, tree-like columns that stretch across the ceiling.

Gaudí designed the interior to resemble a forest, where light filters through the space like sunlight through leaves, creating a calm and immersive setting. As you leave the basilica, your guide will explain the Passion Façade, known for its striking and angular sculptures that depict the crucifixion of Jesus. This section, like much of the basilica, was completed after Gaudí’s death.

Continue to the Sagrada Familia Schools, originally built for the children of construction workers. Learn how the structure was relocated and reconstructed over time to accommodate the basilica’s development.

The tour concludes at the Sagrada Familia Museum, where you can view original sketches, architectural plans, and historical artifacts. Highlights include Gaudí’s innovative upside-down model, offering insight into the complex techniques behind his vision.

Of the 3 tours I booked in Barcelona, this one was by far the best. Our guide, Montserrat, was fantastic and I would highly recommend her! Very professional and knowledgabe but without overwhelming you with information. And being in a smaller group certainly made the experience better!

The tour guide we had was absolutely fabulous! He was so informative and also made it super relatable to everyone on the tour. He was personable with all the participants asking them questions that were quite entertaining. I could not fault anything about the tour which he gave. Tickets were expensive but it was very much worth it!
