Outlander-Themed 2-Day Tour
Day 1:
Blackness Castle, which looks out over the Firth of Forth, will be your first stop. Fort William and later Wentworth Prison, also known as Linlithgow Palace, were filmed in front of the castle. Continue on to Doune Castle, more commonly known as Castle Leoch, where Colum Mackenzie lives. The palace has likewise shown up in the Monty Python and the Holy Grail film. After that, head into the Highlands via Glen Coe and a brief stop at Loch Ness before heading to Inverness for your overnight stay.
Day 2
Travel back in time to Clava Cairns, the setting for Craigh na Dun, 4000 years ago. Continue on to the Culloden Battlefield, the location of the final British-held battle. The Highland Folk Museum is a living history museum with a variety of period scenes. Relive one of the first scenes in Outlander's Inverness where Jamie's ghost looks up from Claire's room: Village of Falkland. Finally, visit Midhope Castle to see the outside of Lallybroch. Before returning to Edinburgh, there will be a brief photo stop.
