Combine two of Poland’s most remarkable experiences in a single, well-organized full-day tour from Kraków.
Begin with a guided visit to the Auschwitz-Birkenau Memorial and Museum, a UNESCO World Heritage Site where you’ll learn about the profound impact of World War II and gain meaningful historical insight from expert guides.

Your journey continues at another UNESCO treasure, the Wieliczka Salt Mine. Venture deep underground to discover vast caverns, shimmering salt lakes, and intricately carved chapels and statues—an extraordinary world created entirely from salt and admired by travelers from around the globe.

This comprehensive tour includes hotel pickup and drop-off from centrally located Kraków accommodations, all entrance fees, guided tours at both sites, and comfortable transport in a climate-controlled vehicle, ensuring a seamless and enriching day of exploration.

Start your day by meeting a driver at your hotel in Krakow, then get into a Mercedes-Benz minivan or minibus for the journey to Auschwitz-Birkenau. During the trip, watch a brief documentary titled "The Liberation of Auschwitz", showcasing footage captured by the Soviet troops who liberated the camp.

Once you arrive at Auschwitz-Birkenau, participate in a guided tour of the camps, preserved as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Explore the barracks, railway tracks, and extensive rows of gas chamber chimneys while absorbing the history of those who endured and perished in the largest concentration and extermination complex under the Nazi regime.

Afterward, head to the Wieliczka Salt Mine where you will have a lunch break. Then, proceed to explore the 13th-century salt mine, also a UNESCO World Heritage Site, with a guided tour through an underground world carved from salt, featuring pillars, vaulted ceilings, and sculptures in sparkling white salt crystal.

This comprehensive day tour ends with a convenient drop-off either at your hotel or another central point in Krakow.

Headline title says 1 Day Trip Auschwitz Birkenau and Salt Mines with Hotel Transfer. It’s only when you look further down in article it says salt mines only. 8 people on minibus and another couple thought they were booking as per title of advertisement and not only salt mines. Salt mines was beautiful.

Auschwitz was life changing. The tour guide was helpful and nice. The salt mines were great but the aftermath of still being on vacation walking everywhere the day after 800 steps was not so great.

Brilliant very well organised tour - 2 of the the main Must-See attractions around Krakow visited in a day. We had limited time in Krakow, so it worked perfectly for us.

The salt mines tour was very, very cool. I knew nothing about the salt mines before hand and was blown away of the various passages, lakes, and churches you got to see on the way. Guide was very informative. Aus-Birkenau was a very sombre experience, but very informative. The local guide at the museum was very passionate about the history and telling the story of what happened there.
