Details

Get a concise introduction to Lisbon’s food scene on a half-day small-group tour designed for travelers with limited time. Rather than sitting down for a single meal, you’ll visit several local establishments while exploring some of the city’s most historic districts, including Baixa, Alfama, and Mouraria. Along the way, enjoy a variety of traditional dishes you might otherwise miss when exploring independently.

Begin at a classic Portuguese tavern, where you’ll sample a bifana pork sandwich, served with beer or wine in a lively, authentic setting. Pass through Praça da Figueira, one of Lisbon’s central squares, before starting a tuk-tuk ride that offers a different perspective of the city. During the ride, take in panoramic views from one of Lisbon’s higher viewpoints and pass notable landmarks such as the Castelo de São Jorge, the National Pantheon, and the Lisbon Cathedral, each reflecting the city’s layered history.

The tuk-tuk journey ends in Alfama, Lisbon’s oldest district, known for its narrow streets and traditional atmosphere. Here, stop at a local restaurant to enjoy a simple cheese board, vegetable soup, and sparkling green wine in a welcoming environment.

Continue through the historic Moorish Quarter, where the city’s multicultural past is still visible. Visit a traditional Fado house to taste dishes such as octopus salad and Bacalhau à Brás, paired with wine or beer, offering insight into authentic Portuguese cuisine.

Conclude your tour at a well-known pastry shop, where you’ll enjoy a freshly baked pastel de nata, a classic Lisbon treat. Throughout the experience, your guide helps navigate language barriers and provides context, while the small-group setting ensures a more personalized and relaxed exploration of the city.

The food was delicious at every stop! We got a Tuk Tuk ride in the middle of the tour which was nice to get to see more of the city than we would have just on foot. Gabi was an excellent guide. He was super engaging and personable throughout the tour. And he gave us additional recommendations for places to try during the rest of our trip. Gimme all the ginjinha!

We had a great time with Ricardo. He was informative and a wide range of experiences to share. Very valuable tips about both Lisbon and Portugal. Sadly this is his last week after almost 10 years in Lisboa. 🙁 the tuk tuk drivers were entertaining and knowledgeable.

Spent a good part of the day seeing the sights and sounds of Lisbon in a Tuk Tuk. There's really no better way to do it and cover the ground. Oh, and I almost forgot the best part: eating delicious local dishes along the way! Our guide Camilla was absolutely superb. Her knowledge, charm and professionalism were all off the charts. This tour is a must for all travellers hoping to dive deep into Lisbon culture!!!

We met up with Fred on foot and stopped at the first hole in a wall spot for a pork sandwich which was really good. Right away you could tell Fred was a guy who liked to have fun and very knowledgeable of the area and people. The Tuk Tuk ride with Miguel was full of laughs... keep in mind the ride is only for a few of the stops along the tour. All the food and beverages we had were really good and everyone was so friendly and fun.
