On a guided walking tour, you will be impressed to see parts of the Colosseum that are usually restricted. Also, you will enjoy viewing the arena and walking around the underground tunnels because you will have fast-track entry and special access to these places. Continue your adventure with a stroll through Palatine Hill and the Roman Forum.

On the arena, you can walk in the footsteps of ancient gladiators and present a picture of the past with brutal gladiatorial fights and a roaring crowd. Under the Colosseum, you will find the tunnels that led to the Ludus Magnus, where the gladiators would train.

Observe the elevators that were intended to release predators onto the arena floor and see their chambers. A walk through the Roman Forum and a visit to the antique ruins of the emperors' palaces on the Palatine Hill are also included in your tour. Find out all about these amazing places and plunge into the atmosphere of ancient Rome.

• The exact reservation times may vary slightly due to decisions made by the Colosseum administration office. These last-minute changes are outside of the local partner's control but if the time will vary by 20 minutes either before or after your original tour time then you will be informed of this change by email

• Entrance to Palatine Hill and Roman Forum is with the tour guide escort only; you cannot leave the group and enter these areas alone as you will not have an individual ticket. For group reservations, the Colosseum does not provide individual tickets but one group ticket which the guide will use for all 3 areas

• As per the Colosseum Authority policy, you will join a larger group (max. 24 people) for the Colosseum Underground section of the tour

• When booking for children under 18 years, you must bring their government-issued ID/passport to show at the reservation desk

Excellent educational tour. Tour guide appeared very passionate and knowledgeable. Colosseum was awesome. Due to unforeseen circumstances we were unable to do the underground tour but staff were very apologetic and gave good explanation. Palantine Hill also a must do - amazing views.

Excellent comprehensive tour with Elena our very knowledgeable and friendly guide. It was disappointing though to have the underground tour part of the Colosseum cancelled. This was our main reason for booking this tour. The group we were offered to join instead was meant to have a maximum of 20 people but there were 26.

This was an Amazing tour!!! Including all the levels of the Colloseum, Roman Forum & Palatine Hill, you get absolute value for your money. Our guide Lorenzo was very informative and knowledgeable, and his passion for Rome’s history was obvious. He stopped regularly in the shade on a hot day, and made sure slower guests could keep up. This tour was with Show Me Italy, and I can’t recommended them highly enough. They reached out 2 days prior to our tour to make sure we knew to bring ID to the tour (required if doing this underground tour), and were thoroughly professional from start to finish. A special mention to Nick who went above and beyond to sort out a ticket issue for us when one of our tickets had been printed with a different name to our booking…. He had to do some mad scrambling to ensure that security still let us join the tour…. He was amazing, and we felt very well looked after. Thank you Nick!! Highly recommend this tour!

Overall we were pleased with the quality and knowledge of our guides. The places we visited were outstanding and we asked lots of questions! Luca in paticular managed a difficuly portion of the tour in pouring rain. He was awesome. Aside from the rain, my feedback is more about a few confusing aspects. Our itinerary was in reverse order than advertized and we bagan our tour outside covering Palatine Hill and the Forum and then on to the Colosseum where another guide took us to the underground portion and arena floor. After that we expected an above ground tour and that didnt happen, we were left to explore that on our own. Not a huge deal but i didnt feel as if i understood that aspect. Overall a good experience with excellent guides.

Fantastic guide, Scott, who was very knowledgeable and excited to share it which made for a pleasurable tour. Seeing the underground was a treat as well as the second level. The tour was lengthy but it was at a nice pace and the guide took breaks and made sure we had water. We highly recommend this tour.

Amazing tour!! Our tour guide, Magda was excellent!! She was very knowledgeable and the way she explained everything truly brought us back to the Roman times. There’s so much history it can be overwhelming, but Magda knew how to hit all the major points and gave us a in-depth explanation which made learning about the Colosseum very fascinating. We were a group of 10 and it was the perfect size for this tour.

While we didn’t get to see the lower portion of the Colosseum, they did issue a partial refund. Sometimes it gets overbooked and that was why we were bumped. The reminder of the tour was fantastic. Our guide was very knowledgeable. Would absolutely recommend the tour.

My wife & i visited underground sep 2022 thought it was a great experience feel it could of been better with a differant guid (for us she just spoke to much most being long) we like facts imagination feel the history, so in a nut shell great tour with the right guid .

This was the best tour we have had in Rome. We were unavoidably late to the meeeting point due to the Colusium changing the time. Nick was very good at getting us in to meet up with the rest of the group. He really went above and beyond to make sure we still made it. Lorenzo was a very knowledgeable guide.
