FAQ

How do I get back to Venice after the Brenta Riviera cruise ends in Padua?
Return transport to Venice is not included in the ticket — the cruise is one-way, ending at the historic Burchiello's Stairway at Portello in Padua. From there, the most convenient option is the regional train from Padua to Venice Santa Lucia station, which runs frequently and takes about 25–50 minutes depending on the service. Trains are affordable and easy to book on the day. Planning your return in advance is recommended, especially if you're arriving in Padua in the evening after a 7-hour cruise.
Is lunch included in the Venice to Padua boat cruise?
No, lunch is not included in the ticket price. However, the cruise makes a stop in Oriago at the famous restaurant Il Burchiello, where you can enjoy a discounted meal. This is an optional stop, so you're free to skip it if you prefer to bring your own snacks or eat lighter. Since the cruise lasts a full 7 hours, having a plan for food — whether dining at the restaurant or packing something — is important for a comfortable day.
Can I bring luggage on the Venice to Padua cruise?
Yes, but with strict conditions. Luggage must be pre-booked through the extras section when purchasing your ticket on Alle Travel, and each piece is limited to a maximum size of 75×50×30 cm at a cost of €20 per item. Anything larger counts as two bags. If you show up with undeclared luggage, it will only be accepted if space is available — and at a higher fee of €
What should I wear on the Brenta Riviera boat cruise from Venice to Padua?
Dress comfortably and in layers. The cruise lasts 7 hours and includes guided walks through three villas — Villa Foscari, Villa Widmann, and Villa Pisani — so you'll be on your feet at various points throughout the day. Comfortable walking shoes are essential. The boat is partially open, so a light jacket or windbreaker is advisable even in warmer months, and sunscreen and a hat are worthwhile in summer. Keep in mind that some villa interiors may be cool, so layering gives you flexibility.
What happens if there is bad weather on the day of the Venice to Padua cruise?
The cruise generally operates as scheduled, though severe weather could potentially affect conditions on the Brenta Canal. The route passes through 5 locks and under 9 swing bridges, so operational adjustments may be necessary in extreme situations. If you're concerned about weather on your travel date, you can book up to 1 hour in advance, giving you some flexibility to monitor conditions. The 24-hour free cancellation policy also provides a safety net if you need to change plans further ahead.
Is the Brenta Riviera cruise suitable for children?
Yes, children are welcome. Kids aged 3–11 travel at a reduced rate of €59, and infants aged 2 and under go free. However, keep in mind this is a full-day, 7-hour experience with multiple villa visits and lock passages, which requires patience and a reasonable attention span. There's no dedicated children's entertainment on board, so bringing activities to keep younger kids occupied during the longer stretches on the water is a good idea. The lock passages — where the water level visibly rises and falls — tend to fascinate children and adults alike.
Are there restroom facilities on the boat?
Restroom availability on board isn't specified in the listing, so it's best to assume limited facilities and plan accordingly. The cruise makes several stops throughout the day — at Villa Foscari in Malcontenta, the restaurant in Oriago, Villa Widmann in Mira, and Villa Pisani in Stra — where facilities are available on land. With a 7-hour journey, making use of each stop is a practical approach. If this is a concern, contact the organizer directly before booking to confirm the on-board setup.
Does the Venice to Padua cruise operate year-round?
The cruise typically operates during the warmer months, with the Brenta Riviera season generally running from spring through autumn. Villa openings and lock operations along the canal can be seasonal, which affects availability. Check the booking calendar for specific dates during your travel period — if your preferred date isn't showing available slots, it may fall outside the operating season. Booking early is recommended during peak summer months when demand is highest, especially for a unique full-day experience that only runs limited departures.
