Discover the quieter side of Venice with a small-group food tour through the Cannaregio district and the historic Jewish Ghetto. Led by a local guide, this experience combines Venetian history, culture, and cuisine while introducing you to places often missed by visitors. Stroll along peaceful canals and narrow alleyways as you visit a selection of authentic bakeries, taverns, and cafés.

Along the way, enjoy a variety of tastings, including cicchetti (traditional Venetian small bites), local wines, and a classic dessert. Learn about the origins of Venetian dishes and the story behind the iconic Spritz, while gaining practical tips for dining in the city during the rest of your stay.

Your tour includes several carefully selected stops:

At Rizzo Ca’ d’Oro, a historic bakery serving locals since 1905, sample a slice of pizza topped with mortadella, pesto, and buffalo mozzarella. Continue to Calle San Felice for a glass of DOCG Prosecco paired with traditional bites such as a savory meatball and polenta with shrimp in saor.

Enjoy a scenic walk through Cannaregio, passing the unique Ponte de Chiodo—Venice’s only bridge without railings—and the historic Misericordia area. The route also takes you through the Jewish Ghetto, one of the oldest in Europe, known for its cultural significance and distinctive atmosphere.

At Cantina Aziende Agricole, taste a creamy artichoke risotto served with a local wine or beer in a welcoming setting. Then, visit A La Vecia Papussa, a traditional bacaro, where you’ll watch a spritz-making demonstration and enjoy two cicchetti, such as codfish or shrimp in saor.

Depending on the season, the tour concludes with a classic Venetian dessert: from November to February, enjoy a tiramisu at Pasticceria Nobile; from March to October, finish with a freshly made gelato at Bacaro del Gelato.

This tour offers a balanced introduction to Venetian food culture, combining local flavors, history, and authentic neighborhood charm.
