Piazza San Marco

Begin in the world-famous St. Mark’s Square (Piazza San Marco) and take a moment to appreciate the breathtaking space laid out in front of you.

Palazzo Ducale

Start your day at Palazzo Ducale, or Doge's Palace, home to the doge, or duke, of Venice and his seat of government.

As your guide leads you through its grand chambers and council rooms, they'll point out paintings by renowned Venetian masters such as Veronese and Tintoretto. You'll hear how Venice was ruled from within these walls and about some of its famous prisoners, including Casanova.

You'll even walk in their footsteps as you cross the Bridge of Sighs from the palace and into the grim New Prisons.

Note: Step inside the Doge’s Palace before it opens to the public to wander the empty chambers—an exclusive early access experience only available on this tour’s 8AM departure.

Basilica di San Marco

It's a short walk next door to St. Mark's Basilica, Venice's most important church. Skip the long lines and marvel at a breathtaking blend of Eastern and Western architecture, specifically the magnificent shimmering golden mosaic ceiling.

Immeasurable wealth and incredible works of art. Just walking past the long lines is worth every euro. But that's not all - the guide's explanations and explanations were very good. Any time again, perfect organization. Thanks!

This was a tremendous tour! It was clear where and when we were supposed to meet and highly organized when we arrived. We promptly began our tour with a guide who is highly knowledgable. She spoke slowly and clearly and answered our questions as we explored and listened. When a couple sets of ear buds quit working she quickly changed those out. At the end she gave us a tip to wait on the terrace to see the clock work on the hour. Highly recommend this tour!

The tour was excellent thanks to the wit and wisdom of Francesca who kept us well informed in a light hearted and amusing manner. I highly recommend this tour and hope you are fortunate enough to have Francesca be your guide. Even with all the information to be had, the tour was never tedious or boring.
