According to legends that have come down to us, Selge was founded after the end of the Trojan War by the well-known soothsayer Kalchas and Greek settlers. According to another legend, the city was founded by the Spartans. The place that was chosen for the founding of the city is located in the mountains in a rather inaccessible place, but despite this, the soil itself, located here, has always been very fertile.

The local population, who settled in the city, was mainly engaged in gardening and trade. The oldest coin found in these places was created around the 5th century BC. The inhabitants sold the fruits of their labor — olives , fruits and wild berries, as well as healing mountain herbs and delicious olive oil. Thanks to this, Selge was a large and prosperous city, which was difficult to conquer due to its location.

In the ancient city of Selge in the Manavgat district of Antalya, Adam Kayalar resembles several standing men. The locals have already named the area "Avatar Land" due to its peculiar and fantastical structure.
