Central Budapest Food Crawl, Local Tastings
Budapest not only has a rich history, but it also has a rich cuisine. This tour combines the best of both worlds to take you on a true culinary adventure. On our Budapest Food Tour, you’ll meet with an expert guide and a group of fellow foodies to try traditional and modern Hungarian cuisine, all the while learning bits of history connected to the food!
We’ll start the tour at an old synagogue which serves as an ideal setting to introduce the history of Hungarian cuisine. Learn about how Hungarian food is connected to the Jewish community and their traditions before making your way through District 7, the former Jewish Quarter. This tour shows you both sides of Budapest, both gritty and glamorous. Starting with the more casual side of the city you’ll explore the bohemian atmosphere before trying some street food. Skip the utensils and savour the flavours of traditional soup and Lángos, a deep-fried flatbread.
When we’re done we’ll head to some fancier spots for a sit down meal. Here, you’ll sample Hungarian classics like nokedli dumplings and Flódni, a Jewish-Hungarian pastry. You’ll also try Hungarian liquor such as Pálinka and sweet wine from Tokaji, Hungary’s famed wine region.
Food and culture are connected, so book now and experience the best of Budapest, like a local.
