Walking Tour Buda

This guided walk through the Castle District goes beyond the main sights, taking you into quiet alleyways and past lesser-known corners of Buda’s old town. Along the route, you’ll see Matthias Church, the Royal Palace, and the President’s Palace, with stops at key squares and lookout points.

Your guide shares the history behind each building as you pause at Szentháromság tér, home to the Holy Trinity Column. From there, the walk continues to the Fisherman’s Bastion, with its terraces and towers, and follows the district’s hilly, cobblestone streets.

Around nearly every turn, you’ll take in panoramic views over the city. Notice the red-tiled roofs typical of Hungarian architecture, as well as the vivid ceramic tiles on Matthias Church. Before the tour ends, look across the Danube toward the Houses of Parliament—a final glimpse of the city’s river-facing skyline.
