What awaits you:

Travel from Krakow to the small town of Oświęcim to visit the largest Nazi concentration camp complex from World War II. Learn the terrible story of the more than 1.3 million victims who lost their lives at Auschwitz and Birkenau.

The first part of your trip is a 2-hour visit to the Auschwitz I camp to see the permanent exhibition in the former prisoners' barracks. Afterwards, spend between 1.5-2hrs at Auschwitz II Birkenau, the largest of the more than 40 camps and sub-camps that made up the Auschwitz complex. See remnants of the crematories, the unloading ramp, remaining barracks and the monument dedicated to the last victims of the camp.

Please note depending on the time of year, you may visit Birkenau camp first before then visiting Auschwitz 1 camp.

This is a self-guided tour where you will have use of a guide book and map in your chosen language.

My guide was extremely relaxed and informative - he had a clear knowledge about Krakow and Auschwitz, commenting on history and religion in the area. He gave individual guides to Auschwitz 1 & Auschwitz Birkenau and, given that we were a small group, even stopped at a petrol station for us to get some food. Overall and excellent experience!

El
Very well organised! Kris the guide we had on the mini van was super! His English is very well pronouncdd and clear. He explained and showed us a video on our way. Also showed us the house of Rudolph Hess and took us to an extra part where deportees used to be stopped and a few people visit. Good idea to visit Auschwits2 first and then Auschwits1 to avoid the crowds. Highly recommend this. Thanks!
