klementinum mirror chapel
The Mirror Chapel is a High Baroque concert hall inside the Klementinum — Prague's former Jesuit college and the second largest building complex in the city after Prague Castle. Built by Kilián Ignác Dientzenhofer in 1724–25, it takes its name from the extensive use of mirrors in the wall decoration, combined with marble, gilded stucco, and ceiling frescoes. Two Baroque organs occupy the space — the original from 1732 on the choir loft, and a second installed in the 1950s — and an over-life-size bust of Mozart stands in the antechamber, marking his visits here in 1787. Since 1936 the chapel has served exclusively as a venue for concerts and cultural events. It is one of the finest and most intimate classical music venues in Prague, with exceptional acoustics.
