Join a group tour of the Colosseum, Roman Forum, and Palatine Hill without going through the Arena to save money. A tour guide can take you to the Colosseum for a unique view.

The excursion moves on to Palatine Hill, where affluent Romans lived. Take in the breathtaking vistas of the Roman Forum.

Your guide will show you how buildings looked during the Roman period as you walk among the ruins of the Roman Forum using overlay books and 3D images.

Important information:

A copy of your ID or driver license is mandatory for entrance into the Colosseum
Because of uneven surfaces, the tour is not recommended for people with walking disabilities or wheelchair-users
The small-group tour might contain maximum of twenty people
Please note: to enter the Colosseum it is obligatory to pass a metal detector security check
Quite an amount of walking is involved in the tour
Normal-sized backpacks are allowed but large backpacks are not
Unfortunately, the tour is not accessible for wheelchairs

Dennis was our tour guide and he was awesome! Very professional, knowledgeable, and kind. Accommodated to the group’s needs throughout the tour. He knew a lot of the history and made visiting the Roman Forum / Palatine Hill / Coliseum much more enjoyable and meaningful. He also mentioned that he is an archaeologist which is really cool!

As with most tours, your tour guide makes or breaks the tour. Our guide (name started with a D- maybe Daniel or Dennis?) was fantastic! He was an archeologist and had broad knowledge about the Forum, Palatine Hill, and the Colosseum. He was able to answer all of the many questions he was asked. We ended up booking this tour at the last second because another tour company canceled our tour with Underground the day before (bummer!) but we were very glad we did this tour.

We had a wonderful tour around the Coliseum, Palatine Hill & Roman Forum on Friday 30/9/22 with Dennis. Dennis was so knowledgeable, enthusiastic & passionate about the history of the Romans. It truly was one of the best tours myself & husband have had. We would both definitely recommend! 5 stars

This was a good tour overall, we started off with roman forum and palatine Hill and got access to the arena and collosseum with skip the line entry. Our guide was a lovely lady and explained everything well and went into details about some of the history. The only hiccup was that we got lost in the crowd before entering the colloseum and while we had the radios active it was very difficult to find the group and guide given hundreds of people are pushing you and trying to enter. We eventually found them but had a bit of panic as we were trying to call the tour agency but they were not picking up my calls at that time. Eventually our guide realised and came back to find us at one of the entry gates of the colloseum. My suggestion would be if the company can provide an active number to call in case of emergencies or if the guides mention a meeting spot to wait in case people get separated. There were many scarfs that looked like the one our guide used so we couldn't rely on that.

This was one of the best tours that we had on our Italy trip. Our guide Diego was very knowledgeable and fun. His enthusiasm for this history could be seen in the way he explained everything in the three different areas. When we were in the Colosseum, he made it fun by playing lion sounds in our headsets and a clip of the movie Gladiator to get the feel for the place. I definitely would recommend the guided tour.

Francesca was such a friendly, entertaining and knowledgable tour guide! I loved hearing about the history and imagining what the colosseum and forums would have been like thousands of years ago. I was very happy with the pace, there was plenty of time to look around and take pictures. I'd really recommend this tour if you want a deeper experience of these landmarks :)

Francesca was well informed, funny, and always smiling. She obviously loves her job, and was so much fun as a guide. We were running late and the tour company bent over backwards to allow us to join them and make us feel welcome. The tour was well paced, with lots of opportunities to take pictures and ask questions. She also had great visual aids, including her 'magic book' with all kinds of great pictures to help us envision the sites as they would have been. Overall a great tour. The only thing I would have liked is a smaller number group, but Francesca kept track of us all!

An amazing tour, definitely worth seeing these sites with a guide to get the best experience. The knowledge and interactivity of our guide Yuri helped make the experience much more memorable! The Colosseum really was the main event however the Forums and Palatine Hill were just as interesting and beautiful.

I really loved this tour. Our guid Fredrico was knowledgable and entertaining, he made such a long trip fun and interesting, answered all the questions and took care of everyone, Allowed time for us to take pictures and enjoy the space. Very Recommended. I would suggesting adding an option of going underground the Colosseum too.
