We have visited the spa once before, however using definitely sped things along when we arrived. A fair price, and a great experience … didn’t have the time for the additional Palinka Tour, which would have been good, but maybe next time. Highly recommend

excellent venue, would recommend getting there early as loungerw fill up quickly once it gets busy. only tried the small cafes on the side of the lockers and couldn't complain about food. they do follow strick rules in the pool no food or drink in the pool and if you want to swim lanes the. make sure your planting a swimming cap.

Easy to use ticket. Just exchanged it at the counter. Pools were nice and expansive. Went early in the morning as the pools fill up quickly. Once at the baths they also have beer baths upstairs that you can use for an extra 40-60 euros with free beer to drink. Also went to the Palinka museum afterwards. Short tour and a Glass of Palinka included. Enjoyable experience

Loved the Thermal Spa - staff were great when I felt unwell, supported me and ensured I was ok later. Very busy though.

Super easy & straight forward if you follow the steps: go to cashier 3, present the tickets. We got the cabin which was great! I had read the review so packed the following: - swimming gear - flip flops - towels - sunscreen - water (you can refill it everywhere) Swimming cap only needed in the big pool with lanes so didn’t bother. Easiest way to access is with the Metro - my 12 year old was able to easily navigate it! It is a few min walk from the entrance to the baths! There is a reasonably priced cafe. If you want to get some loungers, go early! We arrived at 11 mid august so busy day but no loungers/ chairs. It is a really fun experience! Beautiful architecture, lots of different temperatures baths, super clean! Bonus: everyone we met there spoke English - not to be taken for granted in Budapest!

Absolutely brilliant, the outside pools were so much fun, all the thermal pools amazing, the best sauna’s I have ever been in, just need to people aware, no cash accepted, card only, fortunately I could use my phone to make payment as I had left my credit card in the room safe, but loved it.

Our first time visiting the Baths and we loved it. It was a Friday afternoon so it was quite busy but we managed to find a lounger and have a dip in the pools. I would highly recommend getting a cabin, they were great for getting changed in and easy to leave your belongings. We didn’t make it to the Palinka Tour, however the baths are a must see in Budapest!

We had a lovely afternoon just chilling. The sauna was really hot but the steam room was just right. After flying and travelling on Friday afternoon and an early museum start on Saturday morning this was just the thing. Relax in warm waters and even have a drink if you like. I could have easily gone to sleep. We didn't book any treatments but they looked value for money.

A really good experience, the pools were so warm and when the sun was out - it was so nice to be outside in the fresh air! Great to have a cabin to change in and store clothes too. (it was only a few EUR more) The only negative thing was the queue to get the entrance wristband was huge and so it took about half an hour to get into the spa! It was a Sunday lunchtime, so maybe it was just a busy day? Would definitely recommend this though, so unique.

Good value for money, made it super simple to get into the spas. Wasn’t able to make the testing unfortunately but it was in a good area. I would recommend going in peak summer, will be busy but it was overcast the day we went so didn’t stay as long as we could have on a sunny day

The thermal baths were amazing, our favourite was the outside ones but we wished both of them were hot as the one with the seating in the middle and the current was cooler and we would have wanted to sit in it longer if it was as lovely and hot as the other outdoor one. Don’t bother with the Palinka museum, we decided to go as it was only a few feet from our hotel and we had some time to kill before going to the airport. It was very underwhelming, the interactive stuff would have been good if it had worked! The barman was lovely and we enjoyed chatting to him while we tasted some Palinka, which we did not enjoy!

It was an enjoyable experience, there are many in-door pools of varying sizes to relax in. There are sauna's to detox the body an clean your skin, lovely architecture, food and drink is available at additional cost. The exterior pools are lovely and warm and relaxing with massaging jet streams of water and jacuzzi bubble functions. Great to experience days after sightseeing and just before returning home.

Excessively expensive party. All drinks 15 euros. Pool water full of pee and even some vomit. But I highly recommend this unique experience. The party is scary. 10 ++

Awesome experience and atmosphere! However, the building was undergoing renovation and part of it was closed off, which was not mentioned anywhere.

It’s an amazing building and I prefer this spa to the Széchenyi spa as it’s smaller and not as busy. It was a shame the outside pool wasn’t as full of water as anticipated. However, it’s a really nice way to spend the day and experience a spa in Budapest. It’s very well organised and clean. If you are planning on using the inside pools you do need a swimming cap, otherwise you are not allowed to get into the pool.

Loads of pool, different temperatures from 40 degrees to cold plunges. Not too busy midweek from 10am-1pm when we were there

It’s a beautiful building, calm and relaxing environment. It was clean and very peaceful. Get there early to secure a sunbed with an umbrella. I got a day ticket and stayed for 4 hours. It’s a shame they don’t do half day tickets.

Definitely an experience worth trying, albeit expensive. Both in terms of the ticket price and the food.

Lovely relaxing day , not too overcrowded and the cabins were worth a little extra. Really enjoyed it . Food awfully overpriced though and drinks were not cheap so take some nibbles ! Lovely welcoming staff too. We coordinated it for the last day of our long weekend and kept cases in the cabin and went straight to the airport at 6pm for our evening flight via an uber for around £25. Totally took the hassle out of of finding a luggage store and getting bus to airport . Perfect relax time after 2 very busy days and very late nights!

This spa is much more peaceful, more relaxed and better organised with better facilities than Szechenyi definitely recommend this one if only visiting one. It's absolutely huge so make sure you set time aside to fully appreciate it all. Definitely try the dragon fruit ice-cream in the terrace bar. It's all kept really clean and staff are helpful and friendly. Perfect for tired legs and feet after a day of hiking

Lovely traditional spa. Not crowded at all on a Wednesday. Get a private cabin which just a little extra.

Really relaxing day needed after our travelling, I was worried about it being 'too touristy', but that wasn't the case. It was a calm, respectful atmosphere in a beautiful building with amazing thermal baths. The cabins are only a UK sized cubical, but made it much easier to drop things off/get changed etc without stress. Food and drinks cost a bit more than other places, but no more than expected. Everything was clean and well ordered. I spent a lot of time researching the best thermal spa for our stay and I'm glad this was the one I landed on. The sunny weather helped, but being restricted to indoors would be fine too. Note: the wave pool isn't in action, but is a nice outdoor pool. I suggest you go to the steam room then brave the plunge pool to feel refreshed!

It was a great place to visit, for a day relaxing in the sun and going Unfortunately there's not enough sunbeds for everyone to enjoy. Also there is no payment with cash in any of the cafes so be prepared as you would need to go to reception and get a card then put money onto it. This is fine ic you are visiting again but we were not. Overall I would recommend as its a lively place and the baths are warm.in the pool.

It was a real fun experience Love the thermal, the pools, the pool wave is a must if you go there The only downside is when you go down the yellow and orange slide there’s a wall in the end between them and sometimes you hit it because of how fast it gets and it can hurt Apart from that it was amazing and we would go back

Loved the Palatinus baths! So clean! Changing facilities really good. Pools were gorgeous. Pool with the seats in was closed, bit disappointed about that and we weren’t forewarned. Overall it was fabulous and would return.

Everything was ok. The facility is very well organised, the swimming pools are clean, the safety lockers are convenient to use and well distributed, the staff is efficient and helpful, the kiosks sell all kind of refreshments at a good price

"The wellness baths are a unique, relaxing and fun experience, blending the old and new of thermal bathing. A slightly disorganised check in & ticket collection. Pay the little extra for access to the different zones. Allow more than 3hours if planning activities either side. Remember you flip flops, towel and swim hat/cap only needed if you want to lane swim in standard swimming pool (or pay 2000HUF on day) Brave the Ice challenges and enjoy!"

We arrived around 12.30 pm at the bistro and were asked if we preferred to eat before or after visiting the spa, we decided after although the time was flexible come back to eat. We were then provided with wristbands which scanned you into the spa and which you could use to lock any of the lockers in the changing room. You can use any of the pools in the wellness part, there are plenty of indoor ones but we went straight to the NMG-5QXL-82PO-7N7S where there are sunbeds, a bar and pool. We stayed until approximately 4 pm got changed back to our clothes and headed to the restaurant. The food was lovely, 3 courses, choice of each given. You get a glass of lemonade and a glass of wine. Overall a great experience. Take your own towel and flip flops or the like and if you prefer to eat whilst still enjoying the spa, a light dressing gown or beach cover type thing to wear in the restaurant. If you arrive without a towel and whatnot you might get caught out and have to pay to buy or hire. I look at it as going to the swimming baths here, you would turn up with what you need, dont expect things to be provided. The drinks prices at the pool bar were very reasonable and card only accepted

Value for money beyond expectations Time at the spa is not limited I was able to have a meal on the rooftop of the restaurant facing the Danube. Very good experience

Delicious meal and excellent service at the bistro. There is a lovely terrace as well as indoor tables with views of the Danube. The baths were well marked with temperatures and instructions and I enjoyed the alternating hot/cold experience. The small rooftop bath has a beautiful view, but it was crowded with amorous couples on the weekend. There was more PDA there than at any other bath in Budapest. It was awkward for visitors who weren’t there for that purpose.

Liked the roof terrace and the Turkish bath, but we almost missed it, we didn't know it existed, the food wasn't very good, unfortunately

More information ahead of time would have helped, e.g. map of the facility, knowing a swim cap was needed for the swimming pool.

It was good, unfortunately there are no thermal pools, just usual but anyway I liked the place. Very friendly receptionist provide to us towels, even robes and disposable slippers. There was also salt cave where we enjoyed spending time.

Rene H.

The pools were nice and it was clean. The salt cave wasn’t what we were expecting and was disappointing. The sauna and steam room was far too hot. The staff on reception were not the most helpful or informative either. Overall not worth the money, wish we had gone for a thermal spa instead.

This is my 1st visit to Budapest and the mineral waters. The facility was 5 star all the way! It's lovely and clean! The staff was very friendly and accommodating. The "what to expect" was unfortunately incorrect. We purchased towels beforehand and it wasn't necessary as we were issued 3. I definitely recommend this activity!

Thermal Margaret Island (St. Margaret’s Spa) is an amazing spot – beautifully designed, super stylish, and incredibly clean. Towels are provided for free, and unlike the more famous Budapest baths, it’s not overcrowded, which makes the experience much more relaxing and enjoyable. There are several types of saunas, cold plunge pools, and lovely hot thermal baths. Everything is thoughtfully arranged, and the atmosphere is truly special – surrounded by palm trees and lush greenery, creating a scenic and tranquil setting. The floor-to-ceiling windows offer stunning views directly onto the gardens of Margaret Island, adding even more beauty to this peaceful oasis in the city.

We were going to go to the Széchenyi Spa, but after reading the reviews, we opted for Margaret Island Day Spa, which is beautiful! People were jogging, biking, skating, talking, lounging, etc. The spa itself was very welcoming, and the three women at the front desk greeted as with smiles, and very clear directions on how to prepare for the pools/sauna. Once in the hottest thermal pool, there were about 15 young men who joined us, looking like they were on the local university swim team. The women couldn’t stop looking! These were some tall, white, square-jawed, Bjorn Ironside-looking dudes! My colleague and I watched the faces of their husbands/partners…and all we could do was laugh! Anyway, the locker rooms were equipped with technologically-advanced lockers; it was very clean with a fresh aroma. The showers were powerful and felt really good beating down on my body. Should I ever come back to Budapest, this is the ONLY spa I will visit. Thank you Margaret Island Day Spa!

We enjoyed our time at the Ensana Spa. Margaret Island is a wonderful spot: peaceful where you want it while other parts are more activity-oriented. Public transport is also available the full length of the island. The spa facilities were clean and well laid out. The different temperature pools with their high-energy jets and gravity outlets were all very enjoyable. Our only suggestion is signage could be clearer; we couldn’t find the entry as the “Medical Centre and Spa” signs could have two meanings. I thought they were referring to a wellbeing day spa rather than thermal pools.

A relaxing experience, even if the welcome isn't particularly warm. It feels a bit like a factory. We waited a long time at the bar for someone to serve us, but there was a shift change at that moment and we got tired of waiting. Perhaps they should wait for the replacement to arrive before leaving the bar and leaving customers waiting. Overall, it's fairly clean and it's a nice place.

Satisfactory experience in the northern part of Pest, even further up from the Parliament. They are well organized and even provide you with a bag to put your wet swimsuit in, but it's a bit far to walk.

I really liked that it wasn’t crowded, facilities looked clean, amenities were nice we had a private locker with sauna and shower included. It does feel luxurious. The cocktails are nice I didn’t get to try the food. I didn’t quite loved the massage, it was too soft for me and i didn’t get any email or notification about the massage time, just got a phone call on my day to visit to be notified that I was already late for my massage session. The receptionist was blaming on me via phone and check in, when I told her that I didn’t get any email or notifications she just ignored it. So if you don’t get any notifications from them best to approach them directly to avoid this uncomfortable situation.

Something slightly different to try whilst on holiday and 45 minutes felt just long enough. One warning: the beer tap by the tub can be both pushed and pulled to dispense, but one direction dispenses beer and the other only froth - it took us quite a while to figure that one out.

We were looking forward to this excursion, and it ended up exceeding our expectations! It’s a bit tricky to find the correct entrance, but the intro email was so helpful with pictures and detailed instructions. The reservation team was very accommodating when we had to reschedule, and we were surprised to have a beautiful private room. The rest of the bath house was really fun to explore, as well. Highly recommend a visit to the beer spa!

You get what is advertised in this experience. The beer was nice and cold. I noticed other individuals had their beer dispenser run out of beer so they were passing their glasses to the nearby couple to use their beer dispenser. My experience with the staff wasn’t the best. We asked a staff member to take a picture of us but she refused. She said she was busy. Shortly after I saw her on her phone at the front desk.

The beer spa and the thermal baths were the grand finale of our Balkan vacation.. For those planning to visit or are already in Budapest, do not miss the opportunity to experience it.
