Details

Depart from central Edinburgh on an air-conditioned coach and follow in the footsteps of Jamie and Claire on this full-day Outlander tour. Your first stop is the picturesque village of Falkland, nestled between the Lomond Hills in the Howe of Fife, known to fans as Inverness, where Claire and Frank honeymooned.

Next, visit the historic village of Culross, famously used as Cranesmuir in season 1 of Outlander. Walk the charming streets where many iconic scenes were filmed and step directly into the world of the show.

Explore Doune Castle, also known as Castle Leoch, a central location in season 1. See the exterior entrance, courtyard, and great hall where key characters are introduced and pivotal scenes unfold.

Continue to Linlithgow, home to the magnificent Linlithgow Palace, birthplace of Mary Queen of Scots and the setting for the infamous Wentworth Prison in Outlander. Fans can learn about the history while imagining Jamie’s imprisonment and Black Jack Randall’s chilling scenes. Enjoy some time for refreshments and exploration before the final stop.

End the day at Midhope Castle, the iconic exterior of Lallybroch, the Fraser family home. Take photos, explore the surroundings, and immerse yourself in the world of Outlander. On your return to Edinburgh, you can also visit Bakehouse Close, featured in season 3 as Jamie’s print house, completing the ultimate Outlander experience.

*On occasions DOUNE CASTLE may be substituted for BLACKNESS CASTLE

*Midhope Castle is only available March-December

As a huge Outlander fan, obviously the best stop was Midhope Castle (Lallybroch)! Our tour guide was Bob and he was a delight with his humour sprinkle on all the historic info he would share across all our stops during the day.

As a fan out of Outlander, I loved this! Got to see much and Brandon was funny and chatty which I appreciate. He fed us with interesting facts along the way and would definitely consider doing this again whenever my next Edinburgh trip is!

I finally got to see Outlander sights! I’ve been to Scotland a few times and keep missing the sights but finally got the chance to this trip and it was amazing! I have a fear of driving in Europe and as such I can’t drive myself places so tours and guides like this are such a great help to see all the places you want. And to end it ark Midhope aka Lallybroch was such a great end to a great day. Cannot recommend enough.

The tour is well organized, initially I thought it would be little time to see, but there are places that have little to see. I liked the guide and the tour in general. I recommend it for sure.
