From Glasgow: The Highlands & Isle of Skye 3-Day Guided Tour
You can disconnect from everyday life and reconnect with nature on a three-day tour of the Scottish Highlands and Isle of Skye, staying at a bed and breakfast in Inverness. Visit the locations where "Highlander" was shot, as well as monuments that commemorate Scotland's struggle against the English and massacres of clans.
Day 1:
Out of Glasgow, take a stunning northerly route that takes you past Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park. We'll stop at a lovely town on the shores of Loch Lomond. After crossing the gloomy Rannoch Moor further to the north, we will continue our journey through Glen Coe. You will gain knowledge of clan massacres as you stand in the menacing but breathtaking glen.
Overnight stay in Inverness.
Day 2:
When we leave Inverness, we will begin our day trip to the Isle of Skye. We'll stop at Loch Ness and Eilean Donan Castle to take pictures before we cross the bridge to Skye. On the island, we'll be able to see the stunning Trotternish Peninsula, dramatic Quiraing Hills, and rugged Cuillin Mountains. Look for stags silhouetted on hillsides or seals peeking out of the water as you walk along the coast. Our lunch stop is going to be in Portree, the island's capital.
Day 3:
You can go monster hunting from the shore along the banks of Loch Ness or take a boat tour to Urquhart Castle. You'll pass the war zone of Culloden coming back to Glasgow, where the Jacobite powers were crushed. You will also see the charming Victorian town of Pitlochry and the Cairngorm Mountains, which are home to England's highest mountain. Please note: Glasgow passengers can travel back to Edinburgh, where they can purchase train tickets to Glasgow.
