Discover Rome’s top ancient sites with a licensed guide, including the Colosseum, Roman Forum, and Palatine Hill. You may upgrade for Arena floor access or select a small-group tour for a more focused visit.

Begin at the Colosseum, the monumental amphitheater that showcases the engineering achievements of the Roman Empire. As your guide explains the dramatic gladiator contests, staged sea battles, and wild animal hunts that once filled the arena, you’ll gain a clear picture of how these spectacles reflected imperial power and public life.

The experience continues at the Roman Forum and Palatine Hill, often considered the most memorable part of the tour. Walk through this open-air museum where Rome’s political, commercial, and religious institutions once stood, and explore the legendary hillside linked to the city’s origins.

Though shaped by centuries of natural events and looting, the Colosseum, Roman Forum, and Palatine Hill remain enduring symbols of ancient Rome and attract millions of visitors each year.

We chose a tour that included the underground area of the Colosseum. Also chose the tour that meant very little queuing and was advertised as a small group. We ended up being a tour of 4 people plus our guide Maya. It was an excellent tour made more interesting by our well informed local guide Maya.

A really informative and interesting tour of the Colosseum and Roman Forum. The guide was very knowledgeable but set a fast pace as there was so much to see and so much to tell us about. We learned far more than we would have done just wandering around on our own. We definitely recommend this tour.

Great experience! Radu was a great guide and very knowledgeable! Only sad part was we paid to tour the bottom part of the Colloseum and it was canceled w/o explanation. There were other groups down below, our family was bummed that we couldn't see that part but others were down there.

It was very hard to cut through the constant talking of the guide and we all Switched off eventually. Very nice man but more important information and breaks and less waffle would have made the tour interesting. We were a little disappointed if I’m honest.

We did the dome climb tour with Massimo as our guide, if you get Massimo too, you'll be sure to have an amazing tour! He was warm welcoming and very entertaining! And we learnt lots along the way too! There was a fair bit of queuing to get into St Peter's Badillica, but the views from the top of the dome (and inside the church) were definitely worth the wait. The Sistine Chapel is a must see too! Thank you Massimo for a fun and fascinating visit!

Highly educational, very thorough accounting of history. We realize that when traveling to other countries it can be difficult if not impossible to find native English speakers, but the accent of this particular guide was so strong it was very difficult to understand her English. She was otherwise brilliant and clearly lives for this history and archaeology, but it was hard to follow her.

There are so many options for tours it can be overwhelming, however I already had the app downloaded from a previous tour, I booked this tour at 10:30am on the same day as we found ourself at a loose end. My mum and I did the 11:30am - 2:30pm tour on Sunday. Our guide Diana, was extremely knowledgeable and friendly. For something that can be so incomprehensible (to me!) Diana was excellent at explaining the incomprehensible with additional books and images! Diana did not rush and we went at our groups’ pace which I thought was nice. Would definitely recommend a bottle of water. I would use this company to book again!

Amazing, Damian is the best tour guide we have ever had, so very knowledge, his amazing story telling of the history of the Colosseum, was fabulous, every so often with humour which made the tour perfect, engaging with the group, just perfect, from the TALL man and short Italian woman with family in Calabria, very well done, big thank you… Ciao

Our tour guide, Jessica from Crown Tours, was awesome and such a great tour guide. We got a good amount of history without being too much and she showed us a lot of great before and afters of the colosseum. She told us lots of fun facts about the colosseum and was very nice and funny.

I had an absolutely amazing tour and I would recommend anyone who is visiting Rome for the first time to book guided tours for each attraction! Crown Tours is very well organized and the staff is nice, patient and always there to help. I had a true history lesson within those 3 hours and everything made more sense due to the clear explanations. I would love to do it again one day :). P.s: would have loved a walk through the Roman Forum as we only looked at it from above.
