The adventure starts at Bacino Orseolo, a busy gondola centre behind St Mark's Square. This historic pier is full of life, with gondolas waiting for passengers. Each one is decorated with bright colours and detailed designs. As you move into the quieter Rio dei Barcaroli and Rio dell'Ovo, you can enjoy the city's hidden charm. Narrow waterways lined with Byzantine facades and old bridges provide a tranquil backdrop that contrasts with the lively energy of Bacino Orseolo.

When you reach the Grand Canal, you will see Venice's famous Rialto Bridge in the distance. This 16th-century wonder, with its arched design and busy market, is a great example of Venetian engineering and business. Nearby is Ca' Farsetti, a 14th-century palace with a white marble front and Gothic details. It is now the town hall, with its fancy balconies and arcade loggia showing its political and cultural importance over the centuries. Next door is the Palazzo Grimani, the largest building on the Grand Canal. It is famous for its grand Renaissance style and imposing presence.

As the gondola crosses the Rio San Luca, Palazzo Manin appears — a baroque masterpiece that once housed Ludovico Manin, the last Doge of Venice. Now it is home to the Bank of Italy, and its beautiful stonework and grand staircases show how rich Venice was in the past. The quiet canal offers glimpses of lesser-known bridges and hidden courtyards, showing the city's rich history.

This route shows Venice's famous architecture, from Gothic palaces to Renaissance giants, and proves that Venice is a city of water and stone that people still love. Every turn reveals a new masterpiece, combining practical elegance with artistic expression — a hallmark of Venetian design.

We had a fantastic gondolier who not only told but also sang! You have to experience this.

Overall very good. A bit chaotic when the guide was trying to organise a group of about 50 people onto the gondolas though.

You can't see Venice without gondolas. Gondola ride is an absolute must, unbelievable how they push the long boat through the canals with those sticks, without hitting anything. It's a pity that the gondolier didn't tell much and certainly didn't sing O sole mio. A little more enthusiasm there would have been great. And the chance to take a photo with your partner as you board

Unfortunately, it rained on the day the visit was scheduled. However, we were still able to take a gondola ride and it lasted 30 minutes as planned. We were less far than expected because of the weather, but the experience was worth it.

We thought that we would have the gondola to ourselves, but we shared it with another couple, which wasn't a big deal. But the other couple rushed into the gondola to grab the nice seats closer to the gondolier, so we weren't able to take any pics there. Overall though, I would recommend, but just know that you'll be sharing the gondola ride with up to 5 people max.

Really special, the whole tour was among the Venetian canals and then flowed into the lagoon! Gondolier affable and skilled at his job, tour actually as described. Really great experience, definitely to be repeated.
