The walk was very nice. We liked that it was through small channels, because it is quieter. Our very friendly guide and he was talking about the environment at all times. We liked it a lot . We recommend it

The tour was bilingual (German/French). But our guide solved that well. We saw corners that we would never have found otherwise. Time was a bit short because some participants had booked a gondola ride afterwards. Overall recommended.

Our guide cut the ride short wouldn't talk or answer question and doesn't sing this was horrible a waste of money and time I could of gone on a float by myself and enjoyed it more if this is what you offer I will book with viator

The walking part leading up to the gondolas was interesting and fun, learned a lot about the city and the tradition of the gondola!! The only negative about the whole thing was that our guide got us to the gondolas and left all of our groups, they were running behind and it became a little chaotic and we had no advocate for our groups. Otherwise was fantastic!!!

Brilliant, much cheaper than purchasing there. We headed to the meeting point which was a little hut and spoke to the guy working to confirm we were at the correct place. Once everyone had arrived we walked a short distance to the gondolas everyone got directed onto them. It lasted quite a while and we was happy with the time and route.

My fiancé took me here tonight for our anniversary dinner, it was incredible. From the moment I saw the ship, to the table, to the service and not to mention the food, music and final desert! Our first time in Venice, I would highly recommend coming to do this at night time. It’s undoubtably the most romantic experience. Thank you for such a great evening!

Gondola rides in Venice: A Guide to a Memorable Experience

Venice is a city of romance, history, and elegance that is sure to captivate anyone who visits. One of the most iconic and popular attractions in Venice is the Venetian gondola, a traditional Venetian boat that is hand-crafted from wood and has a flat bottom, making it easy to navigate the city's narrow canals. In this guide, we will explore everything you need to know about gondola rides in Venice, from how to book a ride to the different types of gondola tours available, what to expect during a ride, and tips for making the most of this unforgettable experience.

Types of gondola rides available

There are several types of gondola rides available in Venice, each offering a different experience. The most common type is a regular shared gondola tour, which takes about 30 minutes and costs around 80 euros per gondola for up to 6 people. Another option is a private gondola tour, which allows you to customize the route and experience and costs between 100-150 euros per gondola for 2-6 people. A romantic gondola ride, complete with a singing gondolier and a bottle of Prosecco, is also available and is perfect for couples. If you're interested in a more informative and guided experience, you can join a small group tour or a private sightseeing tour, which provides a knowledgeable guide to point out the iconic landmarks and hidden gems of the city. There are also wildlife tours, night tours, and even gondola cruises on the Venetian Lagoon.

Comparison of different gondola ride options and what to expect from each

Each type of gondola ride in Venice has its own advantages and disadvantages, so it's important to know what to expect from each. Regular shared gondola tours are the most affordable and convenient but can be crowded and not very private. Private gondola tours offer a more customizable and intimate experience, but are more expensive. Romantic gondola rides are perfect for couples but can be pricey, while small group tours and private sightseeing tours are ideal for those who want a more informative and guided experience. Wildlife tours and night tours provide a different perspective of Venice and its canals, while gondola cruises on the Venetian Lagoon are perfect for those who want to explore beyond the city's narrow waterways.

The experience of a gondola ride

The experience of a gondola ride in Venice is simply unforgettable. From the vantage point of the gondola, you can admire the iconic landmarks and hidden corners of Venice from a unique perspective. You'll glide past the famous Rialto Bridge, the Doge's Palace, and the Basilica San Marco, as well as the lesser-known but equally fascinating parts of the city. Your gondolier will navigate the narrow canals with ease and provide a fascinating history of the city, as well as sing traditional Venetian songs if you opt for a serenade.
