Great experience if you want to enjoy the channels of Venezia out of the crazy and noisy streets. We did it at 6pm, which was super nice as we still had sunlight during sunset. The gondoliere was very polite and cheerful. He spoke italian, spanish and english. We recommend the private tour to have the most of it.

Great gondolier. Asked if we preferred to hear about the city buildings on the ride. We did and he provided interesting insights along the way but it was just right (he also gave time for my wife and I to talk and enjoy the scenery). For us the “off the beaten path” ride through old Venice was perfect. I wanted to avoid the grand canal.

We didn't really sail in the small streets. Only between the taxi boats. There wasn't much to see on the route. In short, too much money for what it was. The only positive was the experience and a friendly man.

The guide was very competent and mainly reported on the difficulties of the local Venetians. We were frightened by the decline in the number of residents reported in Venice (about 100,000 in 1960, today 49,000) and the frightening takeover of shops and restaurants by the Chinese.

We had a peaceful ride w/ Luca in the smaller canals. I wish we could afford a full hour! It was nice having him tell us general information about Venice and his own experiences. And he takes really good photos!

We like that it is off the beaten path. We went to the quiet part of Venice. We truly enjoyed the old buildings. Our gondolier expertly maneuvered the gondola. He shared little stories along the way. We did not expect him to do but we greatly appreciate it. He was very courteous and considerate. Unfortunately, we cant remember his name.

We enjoyed the ride, but with hindsight it would have been nice to have a guide to point things out. You need to be there 15 mins before your booking, don’t rely on the water bus it took ages to get there, much longer than we thought even though we had done a check the day before so we knew where we were going. The gondolier was so skilled it is amazing to see him work.
