ALEXIS

Very good support, the walk is very pleasant, first passing by the Bridge of Sighs then discovering small canals that are very little frequented. However, the gondolier was not very talkative (or did he not speak English very well?) Therefore almost total absence of anecdote or historical remarks.

priority entrance could save you HOURS of queuing! we showed up early fearing we would have to queue for a while and instead we went right in! even without a guide if you use the book they give you and read the explanations placed on the spot, you can enjoy the place independently, stopping more where something particularly strikes you.

Just follow the meeting point in Google maps and it will bring you right to their newspaper stand (read their detailed description on how to find them). Don’t forget to download the audio guide in advance (either before or the stand has some wifi and a QR code to download) and bring headphones to listen with it. So far, in Italy, most audio guides are done by listening to a cheap phone/device placed beside your ear but having it on your own device /w headphones is much better.

The ticket gave us access to the Palazzo, the Bridge of Sighs and the prison to view at our own pace and this was what we wanted. We did pick up an audio guide for €5 within the palace but unfortunately the battery on the device ran out halfway through so they gave us our money back. The guide book provided with the ticket was a generic book on the area, not just the Palazzo, but nevertheless it is a good guide providing lots of lovely photos and information that we used to help us during our stay in Venice.

Defenitly worth visiting. Just be prepared to still wait in a line. You get to skip the main entrance line which is radicously long but you still have to wait in a separate line. We was stood there for some time, about an hour, before we managed to get in.

We had a very enjoyable gondola ride (one and only as newly Weds) with our guide. Luckily the weather was perfect and the guide told us interesting facts about the different historically significant buildings along the canal as we passed them. The trip felt like the perfect amount of time for a short afternoon activity after we toured the Basilica and Palace all morning.

All of the gondoliers are fun and amazing to take the trip with. I’ve heard of some people saying trey were rude or inattentive or not very helpful and it couldn’t be further from the truth. Had a great time and learned a lot.

This was a great way to skip the line last-minute. The ticket exchange point is on the other side of the plaza through the corridor that passes the Correr museum entrance, FYI, so go early to get your voucher swapped because you’ll have to walk the length of the plaza after
