Secrets of the Canals and History Beyond the Visible
Discover Venice with a local guide, from the Doge's Palace and the Rialto to the hidden courtyards and secrets of Casanova. End your tour in a cozy osteria, tasting the spirit of the city and its secrets!
This was a great way to skip the line last-minute. The ticket exchange point is on the other side of the plaza through the corridor that passes the Correr museum entrance, FYI, so go early to get your voucher swapped because you’ll have to walk the length of the plaza after
priority entrance could save you HOURS of queuing! we showed up early fearing we would have to queue for a while and instead we went right in! even without a guide if you use the book they give you and read the explanations placed on the spot, you can enjoy the place independently, stopping more where something particularly strikes you.
Our guide, Alessia, made all the difference. She was absolutely wonderful. As a native Venetian, she had an amazing grasp of the history of the city and its art, and conveyed it all in a very comprehensible manner. I learned way more about Venice than I had expected.
Just follow the meeting point in Google maps and it will bring you right to their newspaper stand (read their detailed description on how to find them). Don’t forget to download the audio guide in advance (either before or the stand has some wifi and a QR code to download) and bring headphones to listen with it. So far, in Italy, most audio guides are done by listening to a cheap phone/device placed beside your ear but having it on your own device /w headphones is much better.
The tour was excellent and very well thought out. It's all because of the very friendly and knowledgeable tour guide. She had a great command over the language, it was easy to get through what she was explaining and she was very personable. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Venice. 5 stars
The tour was excellent with a wonderful guide who was passionate and knowledgeable about all the history and very helpful making sure that we all heard her and answered all of the questions. 5 stars for her
Our guide was fantastic. It was an excellent historical trek and she was both masterful, and joyful at explaining it all. When you think of navigating the vast crowds visiting magical Venice (and it is so very magical) - your time is also valuable. This experience made it very easy to receive so much in return. Thank you!
Defenitly worth visiting. Just be prepared to still wait in a line. You get to skip the main entrance line which is radicously long but you still have to wait in a separate line. We was stood there for some time, about an hour, before we managed to get in.
