Our guide was excellent, very professional and knowledgeable. I personally found it a very harrowing experience and hope that everything that went on in there should never ever be repeated again. You see photos, hear stories and watch documentaries about Auschwitz but to actually be there you can begin to understand the trauma, stress and sadness that these all people went through.

We enjoyed the tour as much as you can enjoy a tour to this horrific place. The guide was informative and the tours all around us moved seamlessly on. There wasn’t much time for reading information on your own as the tour needed to keep moving. We liked the personal head set so we could all head the guide.

So you have to have a guide when you go to Auschwitz Birkenau. You can go alone, but I don’t know how you would do it because all I saw our group led by guides. The guys have told as in either history or language. Our guide was a woman from Poland, and her grandfather was in conscripted to work at Auschwitz. She was very knowledgeable, and let us through the camps with confidence, and she was easy to understand.
