Reflect on the past on a day trip from Krakow to Auschwitz-Birkenau Memorial Museum. It is one of the most important and tragic places in the world, where you can see proof of the horrors one human being can do to another.

With an English-speaking driver, get picked up from a chosen location and enjoy a comfortable bus to the city of Oświęcim, where the Auschwitz 1 death camp was located.

A greeter will meet you on arrival to introduce you to the place and pass you to the official museum guide. Your tour begins at the legendary gate, Arbeit Mach Frei. The place where murderous and destructive work was performed by prisoners.

The tour route leads through all the most important barracks, which are dedicated to specific topics, such as daily life, work, selection, and extermination. There is an original exhibition in each of the barracks.

Original and stolen belongings of prisoners, such as suitcases, glasses, and children's toys, when combined with your guide's story, invoke a picture of the tragic circumstances and events we must never forget.

Finish your tour at the most dramatic place on the Auschwitz 1 route, the gas chamber, and the cremator where the corpses of prisoners were burnt. After visiting the first part of the camp (Auschwitz 1) there will be a short break.

Board the bus to the second part of the camp called Auschwitz II (Birkenau). The ride takes 10 minutes, and you will join the same guide you already know on site. Visiting the second part of the camp will take about 1 hour.

Auschwitz II Birkenau is an open space that shows the scale of the crimes that happened there. Reflect as you think of the thousands of people murdered here. See the place where the selection was made, the so-called ramp. It was here that the decision about life or death was made.

Really happy with our trip, bus arrived slightly ahead of schedule which meant we were all on board and ready to move at the departure time. The return journey was equally smooth. The guide when we arrived at Auschwitz was really good and informative.

The bus left at 14:00, we were in front of Auschwitz I around 15:30. A guide met us and gave us the necessary information and booklets. He was with us when we bought our ticket and answered our questions. Thanks to Alex. Only the first camp where the Museum is located can be entered after 17:30. So we were told to visit Birkenau first. We took the yellow buses that provide transfer between the two camps before World War II. We went to the camp, we returned 17:45 GB. However, Auschwitz I closes at 19:00. Since this place is organized as a museum, it contains many images, documents and information. So I think we should spend more time here. We couldn't visit all of them because there wasn't enough time.

Comfortable transportation, a guide book had a map and all important facts, we got enough time to see everything (3.5h), however if you can I would recommend going with a guided tour because the information you get from this tour ir pretty dry, vs the guided tours gain a more in-depth and emotional experience. also have in mind there will be a lot of walking.
