Renaissance Treasures and The Last Supper Walking Tour
Take a walking tour of Milan to explore its Renaissance treasures, including skip-the-line entry to da Vinci’s Last Supper at the World Heritage Site of Santa Maria delle Grazie, the 16th-century church of San Maurizio al Monastero Maggiore, and the medieval fortification of Castello Sforzesco. Skip the line at the Dominican Monastery, home to da Vinci’s iconic fresco of The Last Supper. Get up close and personal with this masterpiece as your guide explains the composition, perspective, and use of color.
Walk a few blocks to the city’s hidden gem, the 16th-century church of San Maurizio al Monastero Maggiore, sometimes called Milan’s “Sistine Chapel.” Continue to the imposing Castello Sforzesco, where the Dukes of Milan held court. Explore the beautiful grounds of the Sempione Park surrounding the fortress, pass by the famous Torre del Filarete clock tower and stroll through the military courtyards, learning more about the Sforza family and why they hired da Vinci and invited him to live in the castle as a guest for decades.
