Our family of four enjoyed our day with Velariilo visiting Mazzorbo, Burano and Murano. Mazzorbo was very quaint and very much off the beaten path. There wasn't much to see there except for a church and a vineyard tho and it was a lot of walking!! We absolutely fell in love with Burano (our favorite of the three islands). Valerio took great care to keep us away from the crowded tourist areas while still allowing us to experience the beauty of Burano. The colorful houses are very much worth seeing! We also visited an original Italian lace store and were able to witness lace making in progress. It was fascinating. We spent the least amount of time in Murano. It was lovely but we were exhausted by the time we got there. We went to a blown glass showroom where Valerio once worked and saw some amazing pieces. We also went to a small shop where a friend of Valerio's, Monica, works on blowing beads for jewelry and other glass works. It was fun to see her blow a bead for us but I must admit, we were really looking forward seeing a full glass blowing demonstration. After the tour, Valerio arranged for lunch at 9ne of his favorite restaurants on the island and it was superb. It was a very long day, we got back to Venice at 3:30 and logged almost 12,000 steps, but very much worth the experience of seeing new places.

We really enjoyed this tour. Valerio is a great host and I very much appreciated that he took us to places that gave us a feel for how people actually live on the islands. Seeing the garden in Mazzorbo was truly a breath of fresh air. It was also interesting to get the perspective of someone who actually lives on one of the islands.

Valerio was the BEST tour guide on our north Italy trip! So very personable, and communicated with us DIRECTLY which was amazing, and better than any other excursion! Was very neat to see the "islands" AND the "mainland"....You really don't realize how BIG Venice is....its truly a city on water! Water taxi all day for $25 bucks, WOOT! SO.MANY.ISLANDS....a must do tour in a must do city! This place was simply amazing and beautiful. We miss you already Valerio, HUGS!

Excellent tour exploring 3 islands! Our guide was a resident of Murano and had a lot of connections on the island that really made the experience unique and fun. We loved it and would recommend!
