Absolutely amazing day trip to Bran Castle, Peleș Castle, and Brașov with our incredible guide, **Sonia**! From the very beginning, she was warm, engaging, and full of fascinating knowledge. Peleș Castle was breathtaking, and Sonia’s stories made history come alive. At Bran Castle, she brilliantly mixed Dracula legends with real facts, keeping us captivated. Brașov was the perfect end—charming, colorful, and rich in culture. Sonia truly went above and beyond, personalizing the experience, answering every question, and making us feel completely taken care of. Her passion for Romania and its history was contagious. This was more than a tour—it was an unforgettable journey through time and legend. If you're visiting Transylvania, don’t miss this trip—and definitely ask for Sonia. She made the day perfect!
It was a really good day overall, although it was very long. Eugen, our guide was absolutely fantastic and gave so much useful and interesting information all day. The coach was comfortable and cool. The 12 hours turned into 15 due to awful traffic delays on the journey back, though this was not the tour operator’s fault. We would not have booked such a long day and it was extremely tiring. However we enjoyed getting away from the stifling heat of Bucharest to the cooler mountains and the beautiful stops on the way. We had bought tickets for Peles Castle (you need to book in advance) but instead decided to enjoy the beautiful grounds and have a coffee rather than join the long queue to enter. Brasov was delightful and we decided to have a leisurely lunch but the time passed quite quickly. Bran was also beautiful but it was very crowded, with a one way system meaning you had no choice but to queue to enter each room. Overall it was a good day, even though we were exhausted!
The trip was really fantastic in spite of it being a long day. The guide Sonia was really good in her explanations and led the tour inside Peles castle as well for those who had bought tickets. The timing at the various places of the itinerary were well spaced. Perhaps the stop at the fuel station on the way back was not necessary? All in all a good excursion.
I travelled with my partner, mum (who is a pensioner) and my daughter (who has Down's Syndrome) for context. Communication with the tour company was great, they Whatsapped us the meeting details, a link on Google maps and answered any questions we had. Sonia, the tour guide was great with us, very understanding and helpful. Peles Castle My daughter has walking difficulties, and she's not in a wheelchair. There are stairs involved, both up and down. Most have bannisters. There's not a huge amount but more so on the way down. There's a lot of flat surfaces, lots of rooms to look in. It's quite a large castle. Free for carer and disabled person. Bran Castle. Free for carer and disabled person. You do have to prove with documents. (My daughter has downs syndrome, which you can clearly see and they still wanted proof) The access card worked for us from the UK. There is a lift, which they don't tell you about. For those that can walk, there are a lot of steep winding stairs. I recommend
It was a nice, affordable, and easy way to see several places in one day.
This is a fantastic trip, visiting beautiful places, however you do have to buy castle admission tickets to make the most of the experience. Our guide was ok, sounded a little bored sometimes but guess it's repetitive for him. The amount of time at destinations was adequate, I would have liked a little longer, but it is a long day so was acceptable. I took so many photos the castles & scenery are lovely & the stop at Brasov made me wish I'd have stayed here rather than Bucharest haha. The coach was Air-conditioned but a little older so no usb chargers (or seatbelts) & wouldn't allow any drinks or snacks, it's an early start- make sure you get coffee and breakfast first. I gave the trip a star less because they emailed to say Peles castle (the bigger of the two) had sold out of tickets in advance, for 9-11am but Dracula castle had availability all day. If they knew in advance why didn't they change the order of the itinerary. Took us to castle we couldn't visit. That was frustrating
Dracula castle was bit underwhelming but the tour guide, travel everything was awesome
Great trip!! Our opinion was that maybe seeing just one of the two castles (probably Bran - Dracula’s) would have been sufficient, as we would have preferred a little longer in Braşov. This is of course just a question of taste, though. The driver was super and (guide good too) and we enjoyed our day. If in Bucharest with a spare day, we would certainly recommend doing this. Yes, there is a fair bit of driving. But, the rewards were good for doing so!
The day trip was amazing, the places that are included are a “must see” in Romania. Tudor the guide was the best, very helpful, nice and informative.
This was a great trip to see Transylvania at its best. The driver was pleasant and did a great job getting us there quickly and safely. Our guide was amazing and gave us several options for how to do the tour, which was very convenient.
It's a shame that you weren't told in advance that you had to order your own tickets. Now lots of people are standing outside without tickets because it's sold out.
Everything was fine. Peles Castle limited the numbers of visitors. We didn’t buy tickets in time. However, we enjoyed the park and Palisor Castle instead. Our guide Vlad took good care of us and provided options and tips along the trip. Brasov hosted a marathon game. We cheered with the crowds for the athletes. A beautiful medieval city indeed. I hope I had more time there.
