Details

Take a romantic cruise on the Seine, close to the Musée d'Orsay. Admire the Tuileries Garden, Musée du Louvre, and Notre Dame Cathedral, among other attractions. Before moving on to the Canal Saint-Martin entrance, where Bastille Square towers above you, you will take in the picturesque panorama views.

Take in the magic and beauty of a subterranean world as you enter a 1.24-mile tunnel with windows that let in light. The magical Canal Saint Martin is a surprising aquatic path that leads out of the tunnel and is surrounded by fishermen and chestnut trees as well as a romantic footbridge.

Admire the Hotel du Nord, the Recollets Lock, and the bust of Frederic Lemaître close to the Temple. As you approach the Dead Lock, where the Montfaucon gibbet once stood, keep your ears peeled for the frantic muttering of François Villon's ghost. Before reaching the Parc de la Villette, where you can take in the Cité des Sciences and Music Museum as well as the magnificent themed gardens, the boat passes through the Bassin de la Villette and the arcing footbridge of rue de Crimée.

Blessed with good weather, it was a very enjoyable tour. Entering the Saint-Martin Canal from the Seine is another magical world. The water level of the ship rises to match the water level of the canal, but every time the locks open, the power of the water overwhelms them. A beautiful sight continues, including people walking on the canal. I was able to feel the history and geography of Paris while listening to the guide Bruno's explanation.

Little distance traveled because of the waiting time at the locks but pleasant activity overall. It is necessary to plan the time of return because the departure and the arrival are not at the same place. The guide was a real encyclopedia of knowledge. He recited his text like a cassette, without any expression, emotion or interaction of the gaze with his listeners from the beginning to the end of his performance. I wondered if he was autistic which would have positively explained this neutrality of expression otherwise, the guide is totally jaded. He put down his microphone 3 hours later without ever having smiled or looked at anyone. End of communication! I am coming back home! Very curious as a performance. The content was great but a recording would have been appreciated!

Excellent trip and commentary. Would have helped to have drinking water available on a hot day. Also directions to embarkation need improvement - the indication that the boat leaves opposite the musee d’orsay are misleading - you need to walk down the wooden steps and TURN LEFT - opposite the musee is the batobus terminal I

The guide did a really nice talk in both French and English. All the chairs and benches on the boat were hard, however, one could get up and walk around. Going through the locks got pretty tedious after awhile. They have both a coffee machine and bar that serves beer, wine and soft drinks. That was a nice touch.

A very good narration in French and English. Not too loud and not too long. We went through Paris on the Seine then through a dozen locks to La Villette. From there it’s a short metro ride to Les Buttes Chaumont, a beautiful park built over an old gypsum mine.

We got for morning cruise. Being on time there is useful for get a good seat…is a nice and long trip so bring at least some water with you. Carl the French man from the crew translated very well in English. Bravo! A good idea also if you want to carry with you your children.

The meeting place was clearly stated and easily found. The boat was comfortable and the ride was excellent. I would suggest earphones and a system by which the guide can be better heard. We couldn't understand him as we were not able to hear him well. Other than that, it was wonderful.

A lovely, peaceful cruise if you're mainly interested in the St Martin Canal. Be warned that this is mostly a canal ride with lots of waiting for each lock to fill with water (lost count after the 7th). It's also a one-way trip with a drop-off point far from the original departure point.
