Know that the pick up location listed is not the exact spot. You have to go to the nearest tourist office (which should be the one you booked with) and they will point you to the bus you’re suppose to get on. They match the vehicle with how many are completing the activity. For us it was a bus not a mini van. The cruise is not personal to your group. It’s shared with other people that paid for their own seats. You have to buy the wine you desire at the time you’re at that specific winery otherwise purchase online if that’s offered. The experience over wall was lovely. I would recommend if it matches your budget.

The guide was really informative, kept everything to time. The extra bottles of water were really appreciated having experienced a blistering 42C in the Douro Valley. Lunch was really well cooked, really appreciated this being at a vineyard. I naively thought we could explore the valley by train from Porto. Managed to book this two days before and it was by far the best way to see the Douro Valley. The town of Amarante was beautiful and sold some delicious pastries other than custards tarts!

Our guide, Iasmin, was very attentive, kind and sweet, and took care of the group at all times. Even though our bus had to be changed on our way to the vineyards, the process took around 5 minutes and it didn't delay us on our journey. The vineyards were both beautiful and the tour there was very informative. The tasting of the Porto wines was also very good. The boat part, however, was mediocre, more like a floating peak hour urban bus that went 3 km upstream and then returned. It was so packed we couldn't even move from the seats to take a picture. That part should be changed. Our group was over 30 people, too, but once we got to the boat it was like 5 groups joining the boat.

One of the best guided tours we have been on. The tour guide, Sophia, was very knowledgeable, considerate and entertaining. Sophia’s English was excellent and her anecdotes kept us all amused. The winery tours were very good and food and wine great. The river cruise was a nice way to relax after lunch. The coach driver, Daria, was polite and friendly. Highly recommend this tour.

This was one of the best tours I have done. Our guide Delfina was amazing and her knowledge and information she shared was invaluable. I would highly recommend this to anyone that would like to explore the Duoro river valley.. It is great value for money and gives you a great oversight of what this region has to offer.

Our bus driver Pedro is from the area and had great insight into the valley. He agreed that full boat ride from Porto misses out on hilltop views and not much to see for first hour. Long bus ride with 40 people but we all interacted well with guide Caterina. excellent port stops at large and family operations. Full lunch with wine and more wine at river walk was great.

Guide Needs to be more interactive with the clients. Very little info and with the long bus ride he could have given lots of info on the area and Portugal. Never really ever knew what the next agenda was as he never gave a good overlay of what we were doing and time spent on each. Noticed a couple of the guides from other tours were very involved with their groups. Our guide acted like he didn't really wanted to be there.

We had a lovely trip out to the Douro Valley! Everything was well organised and ran smoothly- even in the rain! The food was amazing- best food of our trip! The port tasting was great and the setting in the valley is beautiful! Recommend this day trip to anyone who enjoys food and wine tours!

Our guide, Pedro (apologies for not knowing his name in Portuguese!) was knowledgeable, friendly, informative and good company. Even on a wet, grey day, the valley was beautiful and worth visiting. The tastings were high quality and generous, as was the typical Portuguese lunch. We would definitely recommend this tour.

We had an outstanding day on our tour. Our guide Ivo was knowledgeable and quite funny. He made us laugh during the travels. Our day started with a pickup at our hotel in Porto, followed by a van ride to Pinhao where we had a beautiful boat ride on the Duoro river. Next we were off to a port winery (Kopke) where we sampled port. The terrain was gorgeous and the terraced vineyards something to behold. Ivo then took us to lunch in a really nice restaurant in Regua where we filled up our tummies. The afternoon was spent at a smaller artisanal winery, Quinta Marrocos, which in my opinion was more interesting and had better port. Then we were returned home. The driving was safe despite the tortuous roads and, thanks to Ivo, we enjoyed the sites, including him pointing out a rare cork tree. Most highly recommended.

Ivo was the best! He is so informative and an overall awesome person! We felt really comfortable with him, and we just had the most amazing, beautiful day. I highly recommend this Boat tour/winery tour to anyone who will be in the area. Getting picked up from the hotel is also a fantastic plus!

This trip was the best thing we did visiting Porto. We learned so much from our guide, Nuno, the history of wine making going back to Roman days up until current days. Our visit to 2 wineries included a guided tour of the winery, wine tasting, and a very nice meal at one of the wineries. If you do anything, do this tour.

The tour was very well organized. We were picked up at the hotel perfectly on time. After a short stop for a coffee it went to the first wine estate, where we could taste 2 Rosé, white and red wines. Also the olive oil and 3 kinds of honey were delicious. As an added bonus, we were able to taste 2 port wines, which was actually not foreseen, but was still heartily offered. Along the way, the very friendly guide Felipe had shared interesting information about the Douro Valley. The welcome at the winemaker was professional, but above all cordial. Then we took a boat trip of about an hour on the Douro along the vineyards. Then it went to the 2nd wine estate where we were served white and red wine for lunch and after a short tour we could taste 5 port wines. The visitors always get the opportunity to buy, but without pressure. Overall a very nice and relaxing tour well worth the money.

The tour guide and driver were both very good, and the guide Ivor was very knowledgeable and made sure we got the best experience. The tasting at the vineyards was very informative and we purchased a few bottles. We had our grandchildren with us and they loved the river cruise. It was a most enjoyable day.

My friends and I did this tour to celebrate my birthday, and our tour guide, Milena, and winery managers definitely helped make it an experience to remember! (definitely make sure to ask about the city of Amarente lolol) Milena made sure we had breakfast/snack/viewpoint stops and helped to explain the history and other information as we passed by them. There was only 2 port tastings at the first winery but at lunch the wine was definitely more unlimited there. Views were gorgeous and I highly recommend!

I did a similar tour about a month ago and I thought it was pretty good but this one raised the bar. The guide was just amazing and full of information. She also had a great sense of humor. The winery's chosen where great and so beautiful. The lunch provided was family style at this restaurant above a fire station. There was plenty of food and wine and it was well presented.

Beautiful experience!! Joana and Tiago have been amazing! Joana was super excited and gave us all the information needed to appreciate the treasures of the lands we were discovering. First stop, Amarante, was too quick but enough to see its beautiful bridge and small square. The 2 cellars were very nice and interesting. In the first one they produce the muscat wine. The guide was very through ! I loved seeing here what they do and the lunch offered was good quality too! After that we headed to Pinhão where we did a 1h cruise on the river. It would have been perfect if the boat was open and they didn't close us between windows which blocked air that was essential as there were almost 40 °C! This was the only downside durin all trip. Too warm and the air conditioner wasn't even enough in the minivan. The second cellar was nice too, they produce port wine and the location was stunning. Less informative than the first one but we tasted amazing wines here as well! Overall amazing day!!

If you dont do this for any other reason, you do this for the scenery. I have been to Italy numerous times, and this is more magnificent. We went with a group that were not wine aficionados, but were glad they went, as the area and the history was the main event. Our guide Lola, was stellar!
