Escape the crowded streets of central Venice and indulge your senses in the rich cultural heritage of Murano and Burano — two of Venice's most iconic islands. On this unforgettable tour, you will witness the traditional craft skills of Murano's glassblowers being passed down from generation to generation. The short boat ride will transport you to the island, where your tour guide will entertain you with fascinating stories of Murano's lifelong dedication to glass-making.

You'll learn how the skills of glass-blowing were so highly valued by Venice that they were forbidden from leaving; if caught, the punishment was execution. Marvel at the craftsman's skills as he transforms silica sand into the stunning glass pieces that have made Murano's reputation.

Once you've watched the glass-blower work his magic, take your time to explore the island's rich culture and browse through the vast collection of glass art that is breathtakingly beautiful. Follow the footsteps of Michelangelo and pick out your own special keepsake. Stroll through the charming streets and canals that epitomize the essence of this small island.

Afterward, continue your adventure to the tiny yet picturesque Island of Burano. Famous for its brightly painted houses tightly huddled together along streets and canals. Burano is famous for its centuries-old lacemaking tradition, which you will experience firsthand. Watch as women carefully stitch lace pieces, and marvel at an art in danger of fading away. Your tour guide will enlighten you about the intricate process of this dying art.

The tour intentionally omits the island of Torcello, giving you ample time to enjoy Murano and Burano without being rushed. Explore the winding streets and sample delicious cookies at local bakeries. The Murano and Burano tour provides an unforgettable experience that money can't buy. Book now, and be ready to fall in love with the beauty of these two charming Venetian islands.

We had a great time! Although it was rainy, we got to see the glassblowing and lacemaking and still had free time. The boat ride was nice, and our guide Christina B was amazing and both informative and funny.

The information provided was great! However, the alphabet map references repeated, so 2 As, 2 Bs etc and then the commentary which was informative was listed numerically so it didn’t correspond to the map.

The glass making tour on Murano was very interesting and we enjoyed it. The demonstration was pretty amazing! We saw many fantastic pieces in their showroom. The lace making on Burano was just okay. It was a 5-10 presentation and we wish there was more history about lace and what it is often used for. The island of Burano is very cute and quaint.

We were expecting more time watching how glass was made. Instead we were shuffled off to the showroom after 10 minutes of watching.

Great tour with a very informative guide. Watching the skillful glassblower and lacemaker was fascinating. Perhaps a little longer to look at the islands would be good.
