Romantic quiet relaxed atmosphere. A slightly different perspective of the wonderful landscape of Venice and the surrounding islands. Beautiful sunset. Nice informative boat trip in the evening. Definitely enough Prosecco; D.

Wonderful experience! The weather was not the best for us, but Tomazzo was communicative with us about the likelihood of the excursion. Once we were on the water, Tomazzo served us Prosecco and told us much about Venetian history and culture. Though the water was choppy from the storm, our spirits were high as he guided us masterfully through the tour. 10/10 recommend.

It was the best decision to book this boat trip !! Our guide Tassilo (Tassimo) I could not understand it, was so kind and nice. Without him, the ride would have been only half as nice. He was wonderful at everything, told everything about the lagoon of Venice, felt safe with him and had a lot of fun !! Unfortunately, the two hours have passed as in flight, because it was so great. I can recommend this ride to everyone !! You can relax on the water with Prosecco and listen to the exciting stories. Many thanks for this great experience !!

Amazing, friendly guide who was good fun and told us some really interesting things about Venice lovely people who joined us on the boat! Was a definite must, rounded our trip off perfectly to get away from the busy city and people and soak it all in with a few glasses of Prosecco.

Excellent guide. Very knowledgeable. We saw parts of Venice and the islands we had never seen before. Very informative and enjoyable. The boat was great plus proseco and soft drinks. Don't miss this. It is well worth it.

Lots of insights in a picturesque setting. However, with several people, which somewhat reduced the intended romance.

FAQ

Will the Venice sunset boat tour operate in bad weather?
The tour generally runs even in imperfect weather — reviewers have reported sailing through choppy water after storms and still having an excellent time. The captain monitors conditions closely and communicates proactively with guests about the likelihood of the excursion going ahead. That said, if you're booking on a cloudy day, bring a raincoat as recommended by the organizer. Even without a picture-perfect sunset, the lagoon views and captain's commentary make the experience worthwhile. In cases of truly dangerous conditions, the organizer would advise accordingly.
What kind of boat is used for the Venice sunset cruise?
Two types of traditional Venetian boats are used depending on group size. If 5 or more guests are booked, you'll sail on the ""Bragozzo"" — a larger, classic wooden boat. For groups of 4 or fewer, the smaller ""Sampierotta"" is used instead. Both are authentic Venetian vessels that offer an intimate, traditional experience on the water, quite different from the standard motorized tourist boats. Photos of both boats are available on the listing so you can see what to expect.
Is the Venice sunset boat tour suitable for children?
Yes, children are allowed on the tour. The 2-hour cruise through the Venetian Lagoon is a calm, scenic experience that can work well for families. Keep in mind that the tour includes Prosecco — one bottle per two guests — which is part of the romantic atmosphere, but soft drinks are also available. The small group size of up to 11 people means the boat stays intimate, so very young children who may become restless on a longer, slower-paced cruise might find 2 hours challenging. Use your judgment based on your child's temperament.
What should I do if the sunset cruise in Venice is sold out on my preferred date?
This tour frequently sells out, so booking well in advance through Alle Travel is strongly recommended, especially during peak tourist season. If your preferred date shows no availability, check back regularly as cancellations can open up spots — the 24-hour free cancellation policy means other guests sometimes release tickets. You can also look at adjacent dates, as sunset times don't change dramatically from one evening to the next. The booking calendar shows all currently available dates at a glance.
Is it possible to book a private sunset cruise in Venice instead of a shared tour?
This specific tour is a shared small-group experience with up to 11 guests. A private option isn't listed, but with the group size sometimes dropping to 4 or fewer — at which point you get the smaller Sampierotta — it can feel semi-private on quieter days. If a fully private experience is important, contact the organizer through the booking page to ask about custom arrangements. Several reviewers have noted that even the shared format feels intimate and romantic thanks to the small boat and relaxed atmosphere.
What should I wear on the Venice sunset boat tour?
Comfortable shoes and clothes are essential, as the organizer specifically recommends. On sunny evenings, bring sunscreen and a hat since you'll be on open water for 2 hours with no shade. On overcast days, a raincoat is a must. Even in summer, temperatures drop once the sun goes down and you're out on the lagoon, so a light jacket or extra layer is always a smart addition. You'll be seated for most of the tour, so prioritize warmth and comfort over style.
How do I get to the departure point at St. Mark's Square?
The tour departs from and returns to St. Mark's Square, which is one of the most accessible locations in Venice. If you're coming from the train station (Santa Lucia), you can take the vaporetto (water bus) Line 1 or Line 2 directly to San Marco. From the airport, the Alilaguna water shuttle or a water taxi will bring you to the San Marco area. If you're already in central Venice, St. Mark's Square is well-signposted and walkable from most neighborhoods. Arrive a few minutes early to locate your guide at the meeting point.
Are there any additional fees beyond the ticket price for the sunset cruise?
No — the ticket price covers the full 2-hour boat tour, a bottle of wine (Prosecco) for every two guests, and the captain's live commentary throughout the cruise. Soft drinks are also available on board. There are no hidden costs, port fees, or mandatory gratuities. The only additional expense would be personal items like a raincoat or snacks, which you'd bring yourself. Tipping the captain is entirely at your discretion if you feel the experience warrants it.
