Great intro to Bangkok. Good to do at 4:30 as you catch the sunset. Yes, it has its touristy things, but we are tourists. We were lucky as the locks were open so no wait and we went back a different route,

It was a fantastic trip and we had the modt wonderful guide! I tgink his name was Johanne. Would have liked more time at the Artist House but apart from that we absolutely loved it!

This longboat khlong tour was an interesting way to see a bit of Bangkok's canal-side life. Our nice guide, Fern, was helpful and managed things under sometimes challenging conditions. The only drawback was in the difficulty hearing her narration and announcements over the boat noises. But overall, a fun experience!

Easy to book and the tour itself was great. Saw some really interesting sights from both the river and the canal. Seeing the giant buddha then the stop off at Thon Buri were highlights for me. The only issue I had was that the initial organisation was rather chaotic with several different trips all congregating at the same place. The various tour guides found it hard to separate who was in which group and because I'd only booked a couple of hours earlier, I didn't seem to be on anyone's list. I had to be really firm with the guides to ensure I was included on one of the tours otherwise I felt they would have left me behind.

This was a great tour that I would highly recommend. It’s a great introduction to Bangkok culture especially if you’re a little bit jetlagged and you’re looking to start your adventure but not overdue.

The long boat ride is an excellent experience, an opportunity to see a part of Bangkok you would otherwise not see. Our host, Bella, is informative, engaging, and funny. So glad we did this. It’s definitely worth the investment and then some.

It was perfect. Mr Aekaphol made super good explanations with some funny comments. The transportation is super good and convenient, you only have to worry to respect the meeting points that he will give during the activity and that’s it. Great experience and highly recommended!

Such a fun morning typically chaotic with train crowds and boats bumping and bobbing up the canals with vendors shouting their wares, but organised perfectly down to the minute. Tanya our guide was very well organised and kept things moving. Highly recommend.

Fantastic day trip to the railway and floating markets. It was very well organized, from the pick up to the drop off. Transportation was comfortable, the activities were perfectly timed and we really got to enjoy them. Patty, our guide, was very friendly and made sure everything went smoothly. Great value for money. Highly recommend this tour.

had a really interesting time with the group I went with. was quite a long day , the railway market was unbelievable and the water market was more peaceful. only drama was our van had blowout on the rear tyre, but they got us back safely. overall I would recommend. our guide was very enthusiastic as well .

Patty was an amazing tour guide! She was warm, welcoming, and incredibly informative throughout the entire experience. She truly had our group’s best interests at heart and made sure everything ran smoothly. I especially enjoyed visiting the Umbrella Market to see the train pass through and exploring the floating water market — both were such unique and memorable experiences. We ended the excursion with a delicious meal, and transportation to and from the tour was safe and comfortable. Overall, we had a wonderful experience and highly recommend Patty’s tour. Thank you for such a fantastic day!

My wife and I had a wonderful experience. We rode the train into the market and then watched it depart right next to the tracks. It was a cool experience. Then we went to the floating market and rode the boats and had about an hour to eat and shop. I definitely recommend doing a tour vs doing it yourself. It was much easier and the guide led us at each stop. Would highly recommend. A++++

A very interesting tour! We especially enjoyed the floating market and the railway market is quite the experience! You really need to see it in person to truly appreciate just how close you are to the train. Our guide was so pleasant and friendly - overall a great tour!

The tour was great, we just didn't understand why we didn't have time to explore the train market. This is because we insisted to the guide that we took the tour to see the train go by, not to actually get on it. But really, we didn't have time to walk around the stalls. The floating market is worthwhile if you like to bargain.

Spectacular view of the fireworks, incredible atmosphere, views along the river were phenomenal, service and food were both very good. Only fault was the chaos to get checked in and board the boat but it was New Year’s Eve and expected it to be busy. Would definitely recommend this experience.

The tour ok the boat take to all the highlights ok Bangkok. Is a very. Nice experience the boat was big and beautiful. The food good variety and choices to pick. Great experience.

Great fun. The boat was very nicely presented and clean. There was a variety of food available and it was all pretty good. The guides told us what we were passing on the river and kept us entertained with live singing, with a little party at the end for the passengers. The traditional Thai dances were a lovely addition. Lots of opportunities for pictures of the sites along the river with lots of them lit up at night.

For our last night in BK I booked dinner & an evening cruise on the Meridian. Everything was well-organised and we were really impressed with the boat, the view from our table and the selection of food. The entertainment was ok and there was no ‘guide’ but that didn’t detract from what was a lovely evening on the river. The views are great and the whole evening was excellent value for money. Highly recommend!

Everything from start to finish. You have an excellent staff on board who assisted me the whole time, even carried me and my wheelchair up on the deck at the start and at the end of the dinner cruise. My sincere and heartfelt thanks and gratitude!!! Even your staff at the checkin station at Pier 4 was very attentive. The lady immediately arranged for me to be seated comfortably and have an assistant to bring me until the entrance of the cruise boat. The food was delicious and had a wide selection. The Filipino band was fantastic and the Thai Dancers were great. Altogether, it has been a wonderful experience aboard your dinner-cruise boat. We surely will be back!!! As an added thought, perhaps you can add a toilet at the deck or at least at the 2nd level especially for the use of disabled guests like me. It was a hard battle to go down all those steps and climb again during the cruise, although I was assisted by a very courteous staff.

Great river cruise, food and entertainment was fabulous. Lots if great food to choose from. You will not get any better value for money. All staff were amazing. Only down side was meeting point in Iconsiam was very difficult to find, meeting point should be at pier instead of stressing to find someone in a massive mall. Also if travelling by taxi, leave your hotel in plenty of time, it took us 1hr 15mins from Bangkok Banyan Tree Hotel in the taxi as the traffic is horrendous. But the cruise was amazing, must do while in Bangkok.

Everything was grate the staff was very kind and helpful. The only thing that can use some improvement is the food service line. Beware of Bangkok traffic and leave with at least 30 mins to spare when you get there. It took us 90 mins in a grab taxi to travel 7km so was quite stressful to then find the meeting point which was an obscure stand tucked away in one of the many ‘warehouses’ literally along a very very long, busy pier with hundreds of people milling about. The boat was huge. Great seat on the top deck with great views, food and ents. Friendly staff, well organised and plenty of food choices. Hilarious (not) that the entire top deck had to get on the floor to go under 2 bridges due to high water levels! Worth every penny a must to see the city lit up at night. I don’t believe this is an everyday occurrence however!

It was the perfect excursion! Having lived in Bangkok for three months, I wanted to show my mother the city, but I also learned so much myself. The tour was just for the two of us and far from the usual tourist routes: it allowed us to see hidden corners of Bangkok as well as must-see sights. We traveled by tuk-tuk. We started at a local market where we enjoyed fresh fruit, then visited several temples before taking a boat trip on the khlongs (canals). We finished at the flower market. It was truly fantastic, my advice: go for it! Our guide was lovely and very attentive.

This was a last minute booking, so didn't fully know what to expect. Actually had a great time, it was interesting to see another side to Bangkok. The big Buddha stop was good but the artists house area was great. Would have liked longer there but never mind. Be warned that it takes a little while to get through the canal lock but it's part of the fun!

Our guide, Bella, was lovely. She was always trying to lighten the group’s mood with jokes and making small talk during the boat ride. She happily answered all our questions, and she offered to take photos of our family multiple times throughout the tour. They give you 30 minutes to have a look around the market and you get to see the Big Buddha during this trip too. We got to feed the fish and do some market shopping. My parents were also able to meet a monk, which was the highlight of the tour for them. The tour is short but is as described.

It is an amazing way to see parts of Bangkok from an incredible vantage point. The Buddha was beautiful to see, I even had the chance to feed catfish when we stopped to explore the canal market & have a beer delivered to the boat by a local floating merchant.

Really fun tour of something we hadn't seen in bangkok yet. Johan was really enthusiastic and taught us a lot about that side of Bangkok. He seemed to enjoy his job and was happy to answer any questions we had. The boats were cool and we didn't get seasick like we thought we would. The only thing is that I wish we had more time at the market. We only had 20 minutes which was enough to feed the fish, use the restroom, and make a quick lap around the market. You'd have to go on your own to really see everything or buy stuff.

Despite the organised chaos before boarding, once onboard the experience was quite wonderful. Prior to boarding, everyone is already allocated a table on their designated deck, so that should eliminate some of the pre- boarding stress. All the staff were unfailingly friendly , polite and helpful. Each deck has their own similar entertainment - both traditional Thai dancing and great singers - finishing with an opportunity to dance. The buffet offered lots of choices with very plentiful, lovely food. We passed spectacular sights while cruising down river.

She was very conscientious of the timeframe that we had and was excellent at getting the driver around Construction traffic that was all backed up. She got us to the train on time! She’s very passionate about her culture and country and was very happy to explain any and all questions that we had. she also was good at pointing out simple little facts and places that you’ve never notice if you did not have her with you. From what we figured out with her, she does many other different style tours that her company offers. If you were to book this private tour of any kind that they offer we highly recommend Anna as a guide!

"Be prepared for some travelling time to get to/from the Train Market and Floating Market, but we felt it was well worth it! Coach was comfy and air-conditioned, seats were virtually Premium Economy! Train is not air-conditioned, but open windows made for a nice warm breeze. Try to get a window seat for the arrival into the Market station, what a blast fist-bumping and high-fiving hundreds of people just inches from the train! Then you get to do it in reverse as you watch the train leave again. Long-tailed boat ride on the canals to the Floating Market was fab also, and a nice vibe once there. Tour guides K.K. and Alexa were brilliant, engaging and informative and always made sure you knew where to be and when. For the price, an absolute steal, and we had a fabulous experience. "

A total of 5 of us went on this tour. The transportation was delayed due to a major traffic incident that blocked major traffic flow for weeks now. It was out of their control but they made the time pass so well. Our guide was so full of life and gave a lot of useful information to help understand Thai culture. Her name was Nee and she was with us every step of the way! From haggling to selecting food, she offered meaningful input and honestly the value was probably double of what I paid. It was an adventure and the best I've had in Thailand so far!

Excellent boat tour through the canals of Bangkok with the highlight of the giant Buddha looming over the neighborhood. Our guide Yoyo proudly showed us his home - the good, the bad and the ugly - presenting us with a real view of Bangkok. The artists village was a nice but quick stop, not really enough time to do any crafts, but enough time to wander through and get a drink/snack. Tip: The meeting point is a little hard to find - it’s down a pedestrian alley jut to the right of a school. There is a little sign attached to the telephone pole so look closely!

The boat tour through Bangkok’s canals was a wonderful experience. We really enjoyed seeing the local life along the waterways – it felt authentic and very different from the busy city center. Our guide was friendly, knowledgeable, and shared interesting stories about the neighborhoods and daily life of the people living there. Getting there by Bolt was easy and convenient; however, if you plan to walk, allow some extra time as the location can be a bit tricky to find. Overall, a relaxing and memorable tour that we would definitely recommend.

Our Railway Market and Floating Market tour in Thailand was a fun and memorable experience with an informative and friendly guide who taught us a lot about Thai history and culture. Riding the old train to the railway market felt like going back in time, and it was exciting to see the crowded shops, take photos, and buy souvenirs. The floating market was amazing, with skilled boat drivers, delicious coconut sticky rice, and a funny, unique ride past the stalls, even with a bit of rain at the end. Overall, the tour was one of a kind with great food, sights, and an amazing guide, and I’d highly recommend it to anyone visiting Thailand.

"It was fun but the train was crowded and hot so maybe take a hand held fan and a bottle of water. Overall it’s a great experience and not something you would see anywhere else. The floating market is great. Also, our tour guide Owen was fab! "

"Read more about - Half-Day Railway Market and Floating Market Tour in Thailand - https://www.viator.com/tours/Bangkok/Train-Market-and-Damnoensaduak-Floating-Market-with-small-group/d343-8374P24?mcid=56757Patty our Viator guide was brilliant. Gave us the best possible experience. She had pre- prepared laminated cards, showing the plan for our day. Very knowledgeable about everywhere we went.Able to show the driver short cuts so that we didn’t waste time in traffic jams.Taken to a railway station we wouldn’t have found ourselves. We experienced being on the train driving through the middle of the market and then got off the train, watched it drive through the market( and had the best possible view of this thanks to Patty. Onto the floating market, didn’t expect so many to boats going around the market. Also, so many different products bring sold on the floating market. Great memories made. Thank you Party "

"Overall I would say it’s a tour worth doing if you want a train ride, markets and boat trip. A couple of things though, the train was heavily crowded, the train market is very difficult to move round and you don’t get much time maybe half an hour, you get about 40/45 minutes of free time at the floating markets and the boat ride is around half an hour which is good. Our tour guide was excellent and he was very organised and clear with his instructions. The food he recommended was also excellent. I’d book this tour if you want to see the basics of the markets and the train! "

"This was my second time visiting a floating market in Bangkok, but this tour was by far the most fun and adventurous! I booked through Tripza (via Viator), and our guide Kwan was amazing — super informative, well-organized, and always checking in to make sure everyone was comfortable. The tour started right on time at 8:30 AM. After a bus ride, we took a local train and walked through the railway market, watching vendors quickly open and close their canopies as the train passed by — such a cool experience! We then headed to the floating market by long-tail boat (small group of six), which made it feel intimate and exciting as we cruised through the canals. Highly recommend this tour if you’re in Bangkok and want a memorable, well-run experience! 🚆🚤🌴"

Absolutely fantastic experience. So many bucket list things packed in to a day. Will definitely do it again when we return to Bangkok. Our guide, Woody, was both extremely friendly and professional. He thought of everything in advance. Our driver also did an outstanding job.

"This experience should not be missed!!! Most definitely the highlight of our stay in Bangkok! Since it was off season, the canals were almost serene as we navigated through the village, in our long boat. The rocket boat, or as Jill calls it the 007 boat, was a blast!!! You must slow down, if you see villagers out on their dock areas, as the elders could be resting…. Jill, our guide, made our day very special, with her care and attention to detail, and with her knowledgeable and passionate understanding of the rural village. I wish I could give 100 stars! "

"An amazing tour that I would highly recommend. We got to see areas of Thailand that you would not experience otherwise. It was fun going on all the different boats as transport. The only disappointing part of the say was lunch, was not the best Thai dish that I have had on my travels, would recommend they look for somewhere else, "

Our tour guide Patchara was oustanding. A lovely person with a vast local knowledge and a great sense of humour. We were picked up on time and taken to the River Chao Phraya where we boarded the express boat. After this we boarded two smaller boats a Long Tail boat and a rocket boat to navigate through the smaller canals. This gave us a fantastic insight into the rural waterways and lives of the local population. We also visited a market and a temple along the way and had a lovely meal beside the river. A great excursion which we'd thoroughly recommend, you won't regret it!

"We did the private tour being collected from our hotel. Worth the extra cost. Our guide Petche was very informative and didn’t rush us at all pointing out lots of places of interest, lunch was included at a canal side restaurant which was fresh and plentiful. Highly Recommend this trip. "

Excellent tour guide! A cool view into the daily life of Thais living on the small canals. We went from a big public long boat, to a private long boat, to a small wooden speed boat. We saw no other tourists until we got back to Bangkok. Highlight of our two week trip!

The tour it's self was amazing. It was fun getting to see the way the locals live along the canal system. However my guide was very pushy and didn't even allow me to order for myself at lunchtime. Which made me uncomfortable.

A fabulous tour with Jill who was super knowledgeable, attentive and funny. We thoroughly enjoyed every aspect of this tour which included taste testing food at a local market - no other tourists anywhere so we got the real deal, enjoying traditional lunch at a small cafe on the river and the highlight for us was visiting the Buddhist Temple and learning so much about the Buddhas. Most of the sightseeing was on the Long Boat, passing many villages which was definitely a different experience. The tour took about 6 hours. We would highly recommend this tour to anyone wanting something a bit different …. Worth every cent

I’ve been to Bangkok many times, but never had an experience like this. Aeh was a truly amazing guide, he went above and beyond and he knew EVERYTHING. Aeh stayed attuned to my interests and dietary requirements, which made me feel very comfortable and kept the trip extremely interesting. He answered all my questions with professionalism and he pointed out things he somehow knew that I’d like. At first I thought the tour may be overpriced, but it’s worth penny. After the tour, Aeh dropped me off at a place I wanted to go but I didn’t know how to get to - he was just excellent and a great human being overall.

Jill is friendly and professional. We loved the experience. Only thing we dislike is the lunch experience. The place Jill took us is very poorly settled and has no wash room. I would say it’s not a restaurant, we feel like it is a local family ( not sure if it’s a poor family or dirty place. We did pay good money for the experience. The lunch is a big disappointment. We were being polite at the time, but afraid to eat.( think of not being sick).

"Wow! Such a great tour. One of the best we’ve done! “Uncle A” made the long ride go by super fast with his information and jokes. He also took great care to make sure we knew how to reach him and/or meet at each location. The floating market is a very unique experience and we found so much good stuff there! Great for shopping. The railway market is also very unique and fun! Unfortunately, you can’t spend much time at each place due to the long commute and traffic. Despite the time constraints, I felt they allotted the right amount of time at each. I highly recommend this tour. I feel like it is a must do in Bangkok! "

"The Floating Market was too faraway from Bangkok, the Canoe shopping experience was too short considering the time travel in the bus ! the prices are higher compared to other shopping centres in Thailand. The Railway Market is a must visit place in Bangkok even it is very crowded still an exceptional destination, specially when it was announced that train is approaching and shoppers must move their belongings away , tourists should mind the gab and turn back behind the red line. Sam the Guide, made our day with his sense of humour, his knowledge and ability to tell the history in a funny way, his passion and his generosity. "

Great way to see Thonburi old town. Bikes were great and the boat ride was amazing! We saw so much of the old town and stopped at Big Buddha for pictures. Our guide was knowledgeable about the area as he’s lived there his whole life. The lunch provided was delicious! Be aware, although the routes to bike on were not main roads, there was still some navigating around cars and also with motorbikes. We also went over many foot bridges and had to walk the bikes up several. If you’re not a strong bike rider I would hesitate on booking this. We loved it!!

What a great morning! We went to markets and rode through tiny back streets that you would never know were even there. We rode along the river, got to explore markets, see a temple and ride along a canal to see a different perspective of houses and living. We even saw a few monitor lizards. We stopped and ate, food was marginal but the food is the least of the worries in Thailand, it's everywhere and you're not going to go hungry. Thank you to our wonderful guides. Thank you Tony!
